A rebuild process

My hats off to you for undertaking this project...I think you got a pretty decent bike there.

I have a buddy who doesn't wrench nor does he want to so he never owns a bike that is more than 4 yrs old...he always trades and buys new and has a warranty to cover most things. But I digress...

I've always wrenched my own bikes and like you find it fun to have a challenge once in a while.

i appreciate that. This is absolute fun for me. I spend hours behind several monitors working all day. When I hit the garage, I forget about all the work, it’s my tools, my bike/car and whatever issue I’m trying to fix.

Before I retired, I was stuck in an office behind the "idiot box" pretty much all day so I feel you there. Working on a bike (or any small engine) for me is a good release from reality.

The good thing was I was a high enough rank and decided when I escaped to go hang out with the troops. But the clincher came when I was told I was going to be sent to a higher HQ so that meant more computer time and no troops-I retired as a result.

I currently work in Cyber Sec, and all my days are stuck staring at a monitor. Because of what I do I work from home, so during mind break I hit the garage and work or in my yard or something to that nature. But for now this bike will soak up some well needed time.

I still have a few more builds in mind A Ducati 620 naked, an El Comino, and some type of truck who knows.

Yes, that job would have you rooted behind a screen for sure.

Your other projects look interesting...make sure you post those here as well.

Got the test ride complete. For my first time on a Busa, it’s nothing like a 1000 that I’ve ridden and had before. It kept its temperature, didn’t over heat, didn’t leak any oil, clicked through the gears smoothly and comfortable, front brake and rear held really good pressure. I’ll have to check the settings at the fork, she feels really stiff but that’s a easy fix if their set to stiff. Super loud with these weird slip ons it has. Beyond that super excited to get her back in the road, until I can get a plate and take her to the street.

I think you're in good shape for the rebuild...all it will take now is money and some sweatequity...

That's how I feel, like a large part of my fears are out the way, now its doing the basics out the way, and figure out this weird slip-on lol
Better to ditch that slip on thing and go for a decent exhaust...you put all this work into it, why have a less than stellar exhaust on it.......

Sitting here staring at her, waiting on plastics from Monster Fairings

I am still trying to decide, I think I’ve heard them all but can’t narrow it down. The one thing I want is titanium
Yep, the decision is always the hardest thing...now to find one that you like.

Money is the only obstacle to get over....there was a guy selling a Ti Force set on here at one time...those are sexier than most.
