when I park mine in a parking lot I chain it to the rim of the car next to me. If the car owner gets there before I do its an added bonus that someone is now watching it

What about LoJack? Doesn't prevent theft but will help you get it back. I use a big ol disc lock with an alarm built into it on the front and a big chain thru the swing arm and connected to a pole. I have to admit I've not really given much thought about it getting stolen when I'm out and about.
