Another frame slider gone bad

OMG...I just saw it on speedemons bike. That's B/S if that is where thet mounted it.

Happened to my friend with his honda 600RR 2 times in a row... brand new and the guy drilled the holes for the sliders either tohigh or to low..

They own you new fenders and don't let them install the sliders the 2nt time around. Clearly there retarted on the subject. Bring the bike to a BIKE SHOP not a StealerShip for frame sliders.
 
Ok everybody, they faxed me the "instructions" to install the frame sliders they got these "instruections" from thier rep for the company who makes the sliders, at least that who they say its from. The very first sentence says "The frame sliders are mounted to the upper engine mounts." WTF?? But then it goes on later to say " If heat shield foam is not present, apply playdough to inside fairing where cutting will take place" So that you could see where the bolt hits the dough and thats the center of the hole. So my question is, Is there heat shielding that far up on the fairing? I would guess a big fu....king NO. But I'm not sure. So the argueing continues.
 
I can't see how they would do that, but I actually look at bikes with aftermarket parts on 'em.
 
Yes, the frame sliders do work for garage tip-overs.  Mine has been over 2 times AAARRRGGGHHH!!!  with 0.... I repeat 0 damage.

Is there actual instruction for the location of the frame slider from Suzuki? If so that would be a great advantage to me. Because like you said the company that makes them probably know nothing about the busa.

There are no official Suzuki brand sliders or instructions in the shop manual as to where to mount them. Sliders for any bike are just mounted in the most reasonable place that works for that model.
I just looked through the shop manual and microfiche for info on those mount locations. Unfortunatley they are referred to as engine mounts.
Bad part is that most sliders are just generic one size fits all. The word "instruections" is enough to set off red flags...were the rest of the instructions in Chinglish and did you purchase the sliders from the dealer? If so you'd have a good case in small claims court:
1. They sold you a junk product.
2. They installed the junk product wrong due to piss poor instructions (and their stupidity).

If you bought them from somewhere like Ebay and had the dealer do the install and they installed them according to the instructions, you may be out of luck.

You can see the motor mount bolts where they should have attached to (on my kit the brackets attached to those mounts). It's a solid point to the engine. Where yours are mounted, I'm picturing a puckered frame if hit hard enough.

No matter what, the dealer SHOULD HAVE KNOWN BETTER!

What are the names of the motor mounts? Is one actually named upper, and then one upper forward and so on? They are trying to say that because the instructions said upper engine mount they installed it correctly. Of course any moron thats been around bike could tell otherwise. And I did but it at the dealer.
 
I've found nothing specific in the shop manual or microfiche. Just referred to as motor mounts. I can find nothing noting upper or lower. Only things that are different are the thrust adjusters where you need a special tool to remove the nut so there's no way to mount a slider there.
 
Mine are not that high and I have an 05 LE. I had them installed at a bike SHOP while they were replacing all the plastic on the left side while I was on vacation. I got back and couldn't really even see them, they looked great.
 
Go into the shop and when you are looking at it accidently tip the bike over or ask them to push it over and see if they work. If the bike or bars hit the ground tell them to order you new plastics and install them correctly
 
Thanks turbo. So sounds to me that according to the instructions, it was pretty much a deciding factor for the installer. I mean upper engine mount. And they picked the one way up top. Istead of researching it a little more.How many mounts are there on one side? I don't have a diagram or anything to see what they saw. I should just take the fairing off and look unless someone has a naked shot of the side for me??
 
Didn't know there was such a thing. But that doesn't help the situation though. Whats the cost for a no cut? and how do they mount?
