Any of you guys miss a smaller sportbike?

I just sold my cbr600f4i yesterday with the intent of buying a hayabusa. I like to do all day trips and the 600 gets a little uncomfortable after a few hours. I sat on a busa and I think its a very comfortable bike, but i'm having second thoughts. I love riding through the mountains around here and whipping the bike around, occasional wheelie here and there. I guess my question is, any guys that came from a 600 or 1000 sportbike feel like they are missing something with the big busa? By the way, looking at a new left over 2011 white hayabusa for 11,900 out the door. Thanks for any input.

Wheelstands, no problem with the Busa. 1st, 2nd and third gear. I came from and old school Ninja 600, and yes you could not throw it around as easy, but let me tell you! Nothing like having all them horseys under your throttle hand..... Good luck on your choice, but I would get the fastest color, Orange/Black

have had busa at the track and at maxton-i love it-but if i had room i would get another 600--howevever my busa remains king

It's a whole different world being on a Busa. The smaller bikes are fun in their own way. The Busa just fits me.. perfectly with a few mods. That's the main thing. It does what i want it to do.. i have more bike to grow into for other aspects of riding. The aftermarket world for the Busa is amazing! The Hayabusa brings me a freedom that i wouldn't have imagined. That became a realitiy once i finally bought her. Love her more and more each day and am a Hayabusa owner for life.

Thanks for the replies. I guess thats why so many bike guys keep more than 1 in the garage. $11,900 seem pretty reasonable?

It's close, but you actually may be able to find cheaper. I'm just guessing.. so don't take my word. Someone more knowledgable might chime in.

Only colors available for 2011. Suzuki has specific colors and trim for each year. 2012 is black with gray decals, fridge white with silver trim and an LE model that's burgundy but about $600 more. Makes it easy to tell the years apart, that's how I knew that the bike I ended up getting was a 2011, white with gold flake, makes it look a little bronze.

The Busa is the perfect all around bike. It does everything well. You can cruise, drag a knee, wheelie, dragrace, tour, ect. The aftermarket for it is huge, so you can change pegs, seats, and bars for comfort, add luggage, stretch it for dragracing, basically anything you want to do with it.
I've owned a 750 and 1000 and ridden most every japanese sportbike. I'de ridden gen1 and 2 Busa's before I bought a gen2 over 2 1/2 years ago. The 1000s are great, and even though I still ride them I'm uncomfortable and hurting in under 20 minutes.
The Busa is a little wider and longer than a 600/750/1000, and obviously alot heavier, however it's not any harder to rail corners with. There does come a point when it just can't get through them as fast as a smaller bike, but you really have to be pushing it to it's limits to do that.
If you have the skill you can do most anything with it.
It's almost 200lbs heavier than an F4I too, so you feel that when you back it up or have to move it when it's not running.
Just don't let anyone tell you the Busa is straight line only bike, as they have no idea what they are talking about. Myself and many others can drag a knee and wheelie them just the same as any other sportbike...and be more comfortable in the process.
If you're comfortable sitting on it and like how it feels, everything else is in the wrist.
Go for it.

I started off on a GSXR750 and have ridden a few smaller bikes (-1000cc) of friends over the years.
I am a big guy and sitting on sport1000CC..
Dont let them Busas fool you big guys can throw em around like the smaller guys can throw a 600.. I was running the Cherohalo out in TN with a CBR600RR and a ZX10R... the 600 was passed coming out of a turn after I got tired of running of running up its azz.. within 3 minutes me and the ZX10R were long gone.
I dont hate on 600's IMO they are for a smaller frame person 140lbs and under or new to riding.

I have a GSXR750 and the Busa. The Busa is more than capable, but it will tire you out alot quicker in the tighter stuff. Day rides are much more comfortable on the Busa, and I wouldn't consider taking the 750 on the long trips.

Remember pics. :rulez8bn:

And be safe. Your going from a bike with 100 hp to one with 175 hp. The Busa is the jack of all trades.
