Hayabusa vs Liter Sportbike...

I own a gix 600 and a busa. My last "liter" bike was a zx9. When i got my busa i instantly thought of selling it for a r1 because of the bulk. Im only 5'7" tall and its kind of big for me. Its not even much faster than current liter bikes (08 busa vs 08 liters). The busa is big and all but its still king. I cant sell it now cause i moded it so i got a 600 too.

Oops. Didn't realize this thread was so old. I see the original poster got his Busa finally, so congrats to him

A bike that can do everything, the Hayabusa is it.

With a couple mods you can make the Busa a better handling bike.

1)Set the bike up for your weight. On the 99-07 models the front springs were too soft. I weigh 165lbs and went from the stock .85 to .95

2)Raise the rear an inch. This will make the bike turn in better, "feel" lighter, and increase ground clearance.

3)Brakes. The '08 has radial calipers, but you're gonna want SS lines and aftermarket pads. If money isn't tight, I'd go for the radial master cylinder as well.

4)Tire. Stock is 190/50. If you exit corners hard, go 190/55.

5)Possibly an aftermarket steering damper as well.

I currently own a 2004 Hayabusa and a 2006 CBR1000RR. I will tell you when I go on long trips I can take either the CBR or the BUSA. I do tend to lean toward the BUSA when going on trips longer than 500miles...

A Busa should def be more comfortable - I tried a GSXR1000 for size he other day and felt like a gorilla on a kids tricycle

Plus a Busa has a certain kudos which a litre bike doesnt have IMHO

hi had 2 busa,s a 99 model and a 03 model. sold the 03 and bought a gsxr1000k6 and kept it for only 3 months and bought a k8 buas.all my riding is on tight twisty roads that are not super smooth and i think the busa is just as good , might take a bit more effort to corner but way more stable than a 1000cc bike. best all round sports bike busa of any year
