Yep, common, and no big deal.
Pull the clutch a 2nd time, or ease out on it a little while you're trying to get it gear.
Mine did it often, and after some miles now it rarely happens.
Congrats on the new bike!
Just got home with a brand new busa! Much smoother power than I was anticipating. The weight was also not as big of a deal than what I thought it would be. Thanks for all the replies, I'm a happy dude. I did run into one hiccup. I took my girlfriend for a spin and twice at a stop light the bike would not shift into 1st. Left in second the first time and rolled it back and forth the second. Anyone else have this issue?
Yeah the shifter needs a load on it to actually shift to the next gear. I drag the clutch a little, you can actually feel a small clunk as everything shifts, once you drag the clutch some pull it back in and shift it. My '06 did it also but pretty much quit after I swapped it over to full syn oil.
Yeah, picked up a fender eliminator at the dealer. Going to remove the reflectors. The cannon size exhaust pipes gotta go to. Priced out a 4 into 1 system with the power commander....wow, pretty pricy. I sold my drag car last year and got back into riding for a fun, unexpensive hobby. Second bike in 6 months and now wanting to spend 2k on an exhaust. I see where this is going.
I have one of each! A 08 busa and a 09 1k. Love the busa, love the 1k Gsxr. Both have there purpose. Each has there strength and weakness.... Busa is the long distance runner and comfortable to ride, even though I can ride it to the edge. The 1k is more fun in the twistes, and is nimble as hell. You can go further with this bike's corner speed and it is a sprinter. The busa is like a freight train. Enjoy both, would miss each if I had one or the other. And to the others, I had 2 02 GSXR 1k's and loved them too. It is a better street bike then my 09 1k. More storage, better passenger seat, and more wind protection then the 09 1k. Had the 02 1k, the 08 busa, and the 09 1k at the same time. The 02 felt more like a baby busa. The 09 is a different animal, it feels like a 750 on steroids, is narrower, and is more of a race bike in feel!
