Any of you guys miss a smaller sportbike?

I had an F3 for many years and it was what I let go to get on the Busa. Are you sure you measured it right cause my F3 stock vs stock had a much more upright an comfortable seating position than the Busa maybe the F4i is different. Though an all day adventure on the Busa are fine with me I really don't see myself doing 5-7 500- 600 mile days back to back on the Busa. I know many on here do with no problem. We riders are built and ride the bike differently. Time will tell but the bike can be tweaked in many ways for comfort.

Now for the creme 'y filling the 2 bikes may both be a little similar in comfort, the comparison stops right there. I got off the F3 and jumped on the Busa and rode it like my F3, got on the highway accelerated and went through 3-4 gears never going near the redline, just up to between 5-7 RPMs to get up to speed with traffic and found myself passing a slow moving car an was wondering "WTF is wrong with that guy going so dam slow on the hgwy" when I looked down at speedo I was in shock first and letting off to coast back into the double digits.

Never missed my F3 after that and I doubt you will either I miss being able to shake the bike between my legs like a bicycle to hear the gas swirling to know how much fuel I had left in the F3, but wth the Busa has a gas gauge so no real loss in the switch  Keep eyes flashing from the road to the speedo till you get used to the difference.

Especially a Gen2. My Gen1 had much more sensation of speed, the Gen2 feels pretty much the same at 95 as 65. Took a moment to adjust and get a feel for it. In fact I'm still adjusting.

id go for it...i have a 600f2,gsxr-750 and a hayabusa...my smaller bikes turn faster but my busa is not a bad handler for what it is..it really is a great all around bike..id go for it

A sport bike (particularly a 600/750) will leave the Bus behind once the road gets tight.

No surprises there.

Depends what you want to do. As others have said, the Bus is such a great all-round bike.

I love mine.

BusaWhipped thanks for the video, what a differance.ive got my rr1000sitting rite next to my busa but the busa is the one im usually on, it really can do all that is asked of it and comfortably.

skills are skills. you can ride a busa like any sport bike if you have the skill. ans don't pay more then 10,500. if they let you walk then walk, day trip up here to jersey and save $1,400

I'm lucky in that me and the wife have a L1 Busa and an L1 GSXR-750.

I love the 750.. its amazing handling wise and you feel the weight of the Busa lots more when braking after you get off it... in terms of power, when i ring its neck i get about the same performance as i do "riding normally" on the 'Busa.. so i dont go quicker on either... my brain has a "thats enough" setting which seems to be the same regardless of what bike i ride...

The brakes are WAY better on the smaller bike, the front ends more solid, the gearbox is slicker, it lays into corners and just soaks up bumps that would have you panicking on the 'Busa....

BUT

NOTHING can make up for the grunt of my L1 or the smile it puts on my face... im more comfortable, better protected, can carry a pillion, can carry everyone elses luggage on tours, can cruise in 6th all day without the need to use the gears... so i'll stick to my 'Busa.. thanks all the same.

I had a 2003 GSX-R 600 before the Busa and I do miss it some of the time. The 600 was so easy to throw around in the intense twisties like the Dragon and other mountain roads. The Busa is a much better bike for me, as I am not always riding like I do in the mountains. If/when I am rich I would have several bikes to include a 600, 1000, Busa, Diavel, etc.....

I have a Gixxer 600 and the Busa.
I really don't enjoy riding the little Gixxer on the street. The performance is great, but the ride quality in comparison to a Busa really sucks.
It's great for the track though.

Im a new rider. I just started riding about a year ago. I started with an 08 cbr 600rr. After riding it for about 3 months I got sick of it as it was just too slow for me. I looked into the busa and jumped on it when I got a good deal for one. I've never turned back to a smaller bike. After I got my busa, I never got on the cbr. Rode it one last time before I sold it a month later and it felt like a lil kids toy I swear. But I love the busa and its gonna be busa for life thats forsure. The ride the feel the power at the twist of ur write it just amazes me every single time I get on it. Not to mention the tons of mods you can do to it. If you want to save some money I think there is an 08 orange/blk busa with very low miles in the classified section check it out. You can use the money saved for winter mods.

SS lines for improved brake feel and ebc HH extreme propads for stopping power. Both will make a huge difference in braking on the Busa.
If you are panicing over bumps on your Busa compared to your 750, then you need to set the sag on the Busa(and the 750 if it hasn't been done). The fact that you think the 750's front end feels more stable is also an indication that your Busa's suspension is not set correctly.
The Busa's extra weight and longer wheelbase will also make it more stable over bumps than a 750.
The only time the 750 will out handle the Busa is through tight enough turns, that a slimmer shorter bike is needed to go through them any faster. You have to push the Busa to it's absolute limits before that happens.

I do! Not that I want to go back to any of them but the 02',05' GSX-r1000's were awesome. I do miss my 06' GSX-r600 track bike also. If I had the resources I would have another in the garage. The Hayabusa has really gone above and beyond my expectations.

+1 on the 01/02 gsxr 1000(owned one), and the 05/06(3 friends have them), both are awesome bikes!
Have you ridden the 09/11 models? Those are even better! I can't wait to try the '12.:beerchug:

Then I'm lucky too! My wife has an '04 GSX-R750 and I've got an '05 Hayabusa.

Honestly, I don't like riding the Gixxer very much, which is funny since I liked mine when I had it. Besides the lack of low end torque (did I stall it again?!? ), I find the bike too stiff and too twitchy. Maybe I've just gotten used to the stability of the Busa but the reactions of the GSXR are way quicker than my own these days... it could be that I'm in my 40's now as well. The brakes are tremendous on her bike though and often takes me by surprise when it stops RIGHT NOW. Again, not a fault of the bike, just operator error. She loves the Gixxer and finds the Hayabusa too big and hard to turn... different strokes! It is nice to have both in the garage though for those times that I feel like going out scratching instead of a warp-speed tour.

I very much miss my Litre bike. While I do like the Busa I sure wish it was 120lbs lighter, 1.5" shorter, and 4 inches narrower. While I think the Bus is about as good as you can get as a "do it all" capable bike i sure do miss the small flickable package. As soon as I find a good deal only a lightly use Gixxer1K that is about a year or 2 old, my bus will have a stable mate.

Just got home with a brand new busa! Much smoother power than I was anticipating. The weight was also not as big of a deal than what I thought it would be. Thanks for all the replies, I'm a happy dude. I did run into one hiccup. I took my girlfriend for a spin and twice at a stop light the bike would not shift into 1st. Left in second the first time and rolled it back and forth the second. Anyone else have this issue?

Yep, common, and no big deal.
Pull the clutch a 2nd time, or ease out on it a little while you're trying to get it gear.
Mine did it often, and after some miles now it rarely happens.
Congrats on the new bike!
