I,m the one who's stirring the pot here..sorry. If we end up going the other way, it's totally cool. I can just do Salt River Canyon next spring.

No you're not

I'm up for anything

I came late to the party and I'm trying to change the music. Either way it'll be great to finally get to ride with you guys.

Yeah, I'm still here...I haven't been riding much lately, so this ride is exactly what I need.

How have you and your wife been doin'? Been riding much?

Dan, glad to see you are still around, roadthing and I were just sayin a couple weeks ago that we hadn't seen you on the board for a while, it will be good to ride with you and that sexy black busa you have again.
plus it will be good to meet some more of the az guys and the out of towners too:beerchug:

We're a-okay with finishing up on the west side. I love that ride up the back side of the mountain to Prescott, then up through cottonwood, then Oak Creek Canyon. We can head home from Flagstaff.

We just have to get moving EARLY in the morning on Sunday for THAT ride!

Wow, its really great to see this much interest. Hey Dan, its great to have ya back and really glad you're gonna be riding with us, if you can't make the Saturday ride I'll ride it with you anytime you want. Just name the time and place from your side of town and I'll be there, and very probably with more busas. It will finally be great to meet you.

My inclination is to ride the east loop on Saturday, which will mean Salt River Canyon on Saturday. Leaving the Mesa area around 6:30 on the 18th. Head up to Superior and get some breakfast, and then take 179 over to Winkleman. Make a quick stop at Winkleman for gas, water or whatever everyone needs. Then head up to Globe the back way on 79. Next to Globe and the 60 to Salt River Canyon. Then back through Salt River Canyon (believe me its worth doing twice) back to Globe and down the 60 to 188 past Roosevelt Lake to hwy 87 and head south back to the Mesa Area.

I'll be getting with Sean (roadthing) thiis weekend to finalize the ride from the east side. Unfortunately, the LEO have made their presence very strongly felt here in Arizona; so I would only ask that everyone be very attentative.

My wife and I are planning a Barerque for Saturday afternoon/evening when we come back into the valley so I'd like to get some idea of home many people might be stopping by so we can plan accordingly. The menu is probably going to be chicken, burgers and brauts. Anyhow, this should be a lot of fun and I'm really looking forward to seeing and meeting some of you for the first time.

Rich I hope I'm off by the time you're arriving in the Area so we can get you out to my place. Do you still have my cell. If not just let me know and I'll shoot you a PM. Work has been crazy (you know local trucking) so we'll get it figured out as the time gets closer.

WAG we're definately doing the west loop on Sunday so you're up to Flag early enough to get a relatively early start to the ride back home.

Remember to all the Arizona guys, we're riding this Sunday. Definately hope to see some of you there.... Danny PS: a special thanks to Sean (roadthing) who has been helping me a bunch with ideas for routes and helping put this together....

Almost forgot. Would every one post up which days they'll be riding either 18th or 19th or both just so we know whos coming..... Thanks for all the interest Danny...

Hey good to hear from you too! I read you bought a busa and got rid of the Beemer, congratulations! I'm really looking forward to this ride....it's been way too long.

Thanks Danny I appreciate it, man I really would like to run that route before winter and time is running real short.

Put me down for Sunday's ride unless something happens that will allow me to go Saturday. It'll be great to meet you either way.

I'm in for the 18th ride. The 19th is still up in the air. Is wag only coming out on Sunday? It would be great to meet & ride with him.

OK...I just found out that I am free to go on the Saturday ride to Salt River Canyon!!!:cheerleader::thumbsup::cheerleader:

I am soooo pumped now! I love the other ride too, but it's the one I always do. I've been wanting to get to the east side for a long time now and after driving the 60 through the canyon the other day I can't wait to ride it....Danny you're right one time through won't do it justice, we've got to run it twice.

Dan

Cool Dan, you're going to get to ride Salt River Canyon. Should be a lot of fun.

Greg, looking forward to getting to ride with you again....

The meeting place for the ride on Saturday the 18th will be at the Chevron on Idaho road/hwy 88. We will be leaving the Chevron at 7:00. To get to the Chevron take hwy 60 to the Idaho/hwy 88 exit. From the off ramp go north about 1 block and the Chevron will be on the right.

The route will be hwy 60 to Superior and breakfast. From Superior hwy 179 to Winkleman. From Winkleman we'll take hwy 79 to hwy 77 and Globe. From Globe we'll take hwy 60 up through Salt River Canyon, and then return to Globe via hwy 60 back through Salt River Canyon. Once back in Globe, if its close to luch time and we want lunch we can stop there. There are several decent resturants in Globe. From Globe we'll go south on the 60 to hwy 188 taking 188 past Roosevelt Lake to Hwy 87. At the 87 we'll head back south to the Valley. This route has some great photo ops, and pretty great roads. Looking forward to seeing everyone Saturday morning.

We'll have the route and the meetup point for the ride on Sunday the 19th posted by Wednesday evening. The ride for Sunday will be a longer ride starting form the West Side and going Northerly.
