Battlefield 3 vs Call of Duty?

So far on MW3 I'm having some problems with the new map, but I started using my sub and running around like the good ol days and it is starting to turn around for me. Usually I do pretty good like that. I don't get a lot of high killstreaks, but I usually get about 5 or 6 pretty regularly. So far the game is pretty cool. I have just been playing HQ and been having good luck for the most part with my teams. If anybody plays on the 360 my name is BUSA CRUSEN. Well, the wife is done watching tv, so time to kill some newbs and sorry vets:laugh: that's my specialty!

SSSSSHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH...........
Ordered COD 3 for my son. It will be here Monday. I won`t say a word to him about it. Tuesday I will hand it to him.

So I got Bf3 last night. One word, WOW! After playing both I have to say there is no comparison. COD is a video game and BF3 is a war simulator. Maps on cod are 1/100th size of Bf3 maps. What a totally different style bf3 is. If you spawn on wrong side or away from the action it literally takes you 5-10 minutes just to hump over there. Place is HUGE! I climbed a tower last night and I must have been a theoretical 500 feet up. Other players looked like ants running below me. You can see for what must be miles?
I was laying down glassing some potential targets when a Humvee pulled right up next to me?
I hear thru the tv GPMO say 'Blackrazor' get in? I was like what? I stood up and entered vehicle and Gpmo drove us for a few minutes over to the battle. Hopped out and did a sniping. Played for like three hours and only died two or three times. It's not getting killed every second like cod. I was also glassing a tank off in the distance when an A10 warthog swooped down and rocketed it blowing it up. Then he swooped off , did a barrel roll and attacked another target! Was also watching planes dogfight in the sky! The amount of things you can do in bf3 is a 1000 times more than cod. Each round is like thirty mins and not ten or so like cod.
If you out on virtual reality goggles with cod it would just seem like a neat way to play a game. Do same for bf3 and it would seem like you were in the middle of nowhere and really there. Just no comparison.

Am happy you are enjoying it Blanca. Now we just need to get you a Mic. Easier to help you learn the game. wish i was on my game last night but I just couldn't seem to keep a positive k.D.

I still love Cod. There is a different style of play that is fun.

Yes I'll still play cod but it is vastly diff. I need to finish the campaign in mw3.
Not sure on the mic as it might push the Dragon over the edge and subject me to fire breath!
Bad enough I'm playing all night with you instead of her but if we are talking I'm sure to risk personal injury

Lol. It's never good to have the wife angry. Mine was not happy when I bought the turtle beach headset.... Then she realized that she didn't have to listen to my games any more. Then only issue is when she doesn't know if I'm talking to her or someone in game.

So the headphones transmit all sounds and not just the voices?
I kinda like the surround sound of battle in my livingroom. Reminds me of the good old days growing up in Beirut

I have surround in my x12 turtle beaches as well. Bf3 by far has the best sound of any war game yet. And Blanca the turtle beach has volume for game sound and mic sound seperate.

Listen I just bought two new games and one used for my son.
I ain't even gonna try to slip in and then be sitting on couch with headphones on.
If I do I'll be wearing them in the shed in my sleeping quarters :)

I like the idea though because then she won't be telling me to turn it down all the time.
Last night the house was rocking with the sound of battle :)

So i shouldn't send you to the links for the headsets lol. A regular Bluetooth headset will work sometimes. The only problem i had was they picked up to much background noise.

The Turtle Beach stuff is pretty good. Myself, I have a set of Sennheiser wireless headphones, as I almost never use the chat function.

I wanna go play after reading this. Its been a long time since I played anything more than a few minutes and mostyl with the lil girl. well santa went shopping the other night for a xbox and the kinectimals game that she has been dying for and I done a lil game shopping for myself also. come on Christmas morning. maybe ill have to get online and act like a teenager again with you guys.

I didn't care for BF2 or really any of the other BF games to be honest. I have BF bad company 2 and played it but only with friends. But this new BF is rockin.

Yeppas. post the links because I'd like to see what you are using.

I picked up BF3 a couple hours ago. Definitely takes some getting used to after playing for years in COD.

Yeah, they have totally different styles of gameplay, eh? CoD is frantic and mostly about the individual, whereas BF3 puts the emphasis on teamwork. I like the size of the BF maps.

That's what I like also, the large maps. I'm more for Deathmatch style gaming but over the last 10 years most I've played seemed to force you into one another so you have to run around like and headless chicken instead of actually digging in and trying to stay alive with a sniper rifle.

I've had no luck at all with the vehicles yet and get blown to bits right away, but at least I can have fun with a bolt action.
