Battlefield 3 vs Call of Duty?

I'm not sure on console, but on pc the biggest thing in flying the heli is to steer with the rudder control, most crashes I see are people trying to steer with the tilt controls.make sure you practice in the combat chopper, the controls are slower than the recons.

Also fly upside down for a bit. Get used to it. Watch out for light posts lol.


Just got my second set of kontrol freaks in and they help also. Gives more finite control.

You learn to see if people are good at flying or driving really quick, and if they are good. If not You jump out... It's like a survival instinct.

I'm getting good with the tanks and vehicles. It was tricky at first steering the body of tank with one stick and controlling turret with the other. Now I'm an M1 tanker shooting on the run. I love it when you hit a hum gee or enemy tank with a cannon round and then see guys jump out. Hit triangle go to machine gun and dadaradaradadadadadadatat! Again it's cool because unlike cod you can chip away walls and dig guys out out cover.

I spent a couple hours last night just flying jets and thunderbolts on the Caspian Border map.
It's a bit easier for me if when flying and strafing I click down on left stick to change to outside camera view.
You can see much more especially enemy helos and jets. Then when and IF I get them lined up I go back to cockpit view for an attempt on them.

I also zoom out when just flying about. Most of my wrecks are cause by me hitting someone low to the ground when I am making super low strafing runs.

My fav is Vehicle killing troops with the heli. On pc I do well with the heli, drop low and scrape the rails till I road kill troops, very satisfying lol.

There was a guy standing on a rock firing RPGs at me last night. I kept trying to spin the turret around to catch him with one of the guns and couldn't do it. Then I was like 'duh' I'm driving a tank so I just hit gas and boost at same time and drove right over him.

I kno that feeling, driving land vehicles it's always my last thought to run someone over. Also I wish it told u when your gunner leaves or gets killed.

Lower right of screen it shows who's in vehicle with you in yellow.
When they leave so does their name from that part of screen.

Yeah I never look there lol, seems like everytime I am using a vehicle gun that has to reload I always forget to and only get 2 shots on an enemy.

I was just reading an article about BF3 and even though I knew the PC version allowed more people into the online battle (64 PC vs 24 console) I didn't know that the console maps were scaled down because of the fewer people it could hold.

If the console maps are considered large, I can just imagine how huge the PC maps might be~!~

When I used to play cod on my pc I was amazed at how large the maps were.
I can't even imagine bf3 pc maps.


I'm so hooked on bf3 that everytime im driving and I see a ladder on the side of a building I want to climb up onto the roof and snipe people. Same thing for helicopters. I see one in the sky at home and I have the urge to whip out a stinger missile.

I just found out I had mines last night, but didn't think about them being for tanks...I was trying to get enemies to step on them

There are smaller mines I think? At the level I'm at I've only got the anti tank mines so far.

FYI, BF3 for pc is $40 on black Fri at gamestop. I think best buy and wally world is selling bf3 for 30 but ps3 and xbox only. I'll be getn pc version

The mines work for all vehicles. You can go set them in the runway for other teams planes and blow em up on take off too!

I'll have to look but I think my best headshot is 200 something yards?
