Blanca needs HELP..

:poke: so your tellin me after 100 miles of riding your gas light comes on? uhm i get about 220 miles to a tank and thats at 70+ mph

Ok Dozer I prolly would have firgured that out but again why I ask .

Yes DJ right at 100-115 miles light comes on . fill back up is 4 gallons .
Been that way since new and now after all mods having gained almost 30hp
it is within 2.5mpgs of stock .

If Im reading your post right thats only about 25 mpg. I get about 40 mpg on my 09. Something isnt right if its that bad unless you redline the thing all day long, lol.

you dont have ecu flashing stuff from me do you? if so you could let bike run and watch all the sensor info etc might help point out issue

no fi light right?

The loose tape around the TPS area is bothering me and before I disconnect anything I want to get a better look at that later .
The mpg deal has always had me wondering right from first tank stock config it was not as good as others . I did not get any replies from anyone as south and flat as me so I don't know how much of of a impact that can be really .
Sealevel and SoFla ?

Question, since you had the plugs out, was there any water in the airbox?

Yeah Dozer I know it's low mpgs but for now that's a sep prob.
Need to get it back to where it was and then I can ask why the mpgs are off .
never tried one of Brocks maps to see it mpgs would improve .
She was not broke and did not need any 'fixin' !

My wife and I have reservations at a Steakhouse here that is diff to get into and we will be heading out in awhile as I am already looking forward to eating half a cow in sorrow , along with 4-5 shrimp cocktails to dry my tears. Later tonight I am gonna take off right side panel and look into that taped up area just to make sure no loose wires or connections are there .
I'm sure it's something simple but just need time to fool with it

No, absolutely no sign of a drop ever being in airbox , under airbox , on top of engine or anywhere near plugs or coils. Bone dry all the way and still had dust from the showroom on top of engine prolly. None . Puts the water near that area theory to rest.
Like I said every Saturday no matter what I wash it. It's daddies time-GO AWAY ARRRR !
And I have ridden thru some storms that would was California AWAY no sign of a drop anywhere in that area.

Plugs look ok. Still about half what youre supposed to get mileage wise. My 07 Solstice GXP(Turbo 2.0 liter) gets 30 mpg while being beat on. I bet the running bad and poor feul economy are related somehow. Its probably running too rich but not enough to make the plugs black, or you have a leak somewhere(you did say you smelled fuel).

Only smelled fuel once right after filling up on way home .
It died , I started it , it died , then I smelled a little fuel , fired it up light turned green and I went !

On average I get 38-42 mpg. City/highway. 44-48 mpg highway! And mid to low 30's on the gas horsing around!

has the bike sat foir a while? if more then 30 days since refuel it may have "seperated" E10 causes alot of problems .if you arent burning fuel you need to use stabilizer. then fuel smell you said you smelled was probably just from trying to restart it a couple times. I would take it out and run it hard after adding fresh fuel and a new fuel filter wouldnt hurt either....goodluck brother

No she never sits. I live in Florida..sorry. Dont mean to rub it in this time of yr.
Gas has never been in the tank for longer than a week.

Agreed probably smelt fuel only as a result of trying to start it a few times at light when she died.

Still have not pulled panel off to see if anything is loose or wrong around TPS.
Maybe today I'll get to it. Pres Day and kids are home...:banghead:

If there is a wire or connection loose in the taped area I highlighted near TPS could that throw FI light on or is the light an indicator of another area ?
