BT016's

You guys must be nuts on the throttle. I need to change my BT-16 on the rear and I'm sitting at 3700 miles total life.

You need to ride that thing or go get it tuned. You don't know what you're missing. Stop driving miss daisy and let that bit@@ rip. I promise you that you can smoke a performance tire without a burnout in less than 1800 miles.

:rofl::thumbsup:

See 2 posts above. If I got 7500 miles out of a BT-016 on a Hayabusa I would be ashamed to tell anyone.:poke::poke:

You are right about 1 thing...You are definately driving Miss Daisy. I dont think I could push my bike and get a BT-016 to last that long.

I have had nothin but sweetnesss outta my BT-016 on the rear.Love it soooo much I got one for the front too. We will see how it works out.

Also

I put a Dunlop Q2 on the rear of my 94 Gixxer it seems sweet too so far.

Q2's dont last, stay away from the pures heaps of ppl have come to grief on them, I would'nt be surprised if they pull the plug on them.
There was a time when I was happy with BT-16's but the 003's are absolutely unbelievable tyre in the dry. I got 7,000kms outta the front and 6,000 outta the rear and they both had another coupla thou in them but I had to pull them early for a pending track day I wanted fresh rubber for. I torture my tyres, they start shaking when I walk into the garage with my riding gear on, they know there is some suffarage ahead. Run the 003 @ 31 psi I think you'll be amazed at the level of grip. 27 for track.

"Bridgestone launches new tyre for larger-sized sports bikes

Bridgestone Corporation, the Official Tyre Supplier to the FIM MotoGP World Championship, recently announced the launch of its revolutionary new motorcycle tyre, the Battlax BT-016 Pro Hypersport, at the INTERMOT 2010 in Cologne, Germany. These sports radial tyres incorporate a number of advanced technologies developed by Bridgestone in MotoGP.

Battlax BT-016 Pro Hypersport uses MotoGP technology

The Battlax BT-016 Pro Hypersport succeeds in combining excellent durability with superior performance on both dry and wet surfaces. The tyre’s “3LC (3 Layer Compound)” offers high cornering grip together with precision linear handling, whilst Bridgestone’s patented “SILICA RICH EX” compound with “RC polymer (for motorcycle tyres)” combines excellent durability with superior performance in the wet. "

Anyway, I ordered a set of these today and will post pictures and comments.
I'm running BT015 on the busa with a bit of life left in them, but as soon as I change tires I'll report.

Dude, the BT-016 has been out for a quite a while. Nothing new. if you are planning on the BT-016 being the cure to the more mileage woes of the BT-15 thean you are looking in the wroooong place.

Really? I love the stickiness of the 016 but the mileage that it offers is atrocious. If I could get 3K out of 016 that didn't change its road nature then I would be estatic.

I've been using the BT 016 PRO rear for 2k Km, about 1250 miles, and I'd say thy're about at 1/3 of they're life, so 6k km - 3700 miles - is a pretty realistic "life expectancy".
Like I said in a previous post, there are no speed limits over here and this Bridgestone gets ridden very hard, some times for a tankful over 250 km/h.
Grip on the twisties is outstanding, even at full lean you can accelerate hard and the BT 016 Pro grips well.
On a recent Hayabusa reunion, all the riders that had them commented that they last a bit longer than the standard and grip a bit more.

With this combo, w/ moderate riding. (Playfull adult/ Weekend warrior) what do you get mileage wise from that set up? I was able to get 9k out of my stock set of BT-56's on my 07 busa. I've been torn between Pilot Pure 3's and The Roadmasters. Spoke to service guys a Dealership and they planted the seed of the Avon Storm 2 Ultra or VP2's. I don't ride like I use to, but will push it from time to time. But, With money as tight as it is I wanna make a good choice.

If you do some reading of the other tire threads, I think you find some common themes:

1. Good tires that stick with lower mileage, beats the heck out of crashing on a high-mileage tire that doesn't grip well.
2. The price of a good tire (or brakes, etc.) is always cheaper than plastics/hard parts/medical bills.
3. Always go for a sticky front; the rear, depending on your riding style, can be a little negotiatable.
4. Mix and match if necessary, but stay within the same brand.
5. Change them out before you run them down to the cords...better safe than sorry, see #2 above.
6. ALL Shinko's SUCK :laugh::moon:

I agree with service guy. Avon Storm 2 Ultras are very good. You can drag a knee with them and get good mileage.
I got 3000 miles barely out of oem tires and get around 7000 out of a rear AS2U. That is 7k at 90%+ riding 2up.

Well like many of you out there, I had to purchase new tires for my Busa. I reviewed a lot of post but ultimately decided to stick with Bridgestone and upgrade from the BT015s to the BT016 pro's. I ordered the combo front/rear set from Motosport for $264.99 and received them in 3 days:cheerleader: I was able to get 5000+ miles out of my OEM's before the chicken strip showed its ugly face:please: The weather here in NC is so crazy that I've yet to have my tires installed for fear of missing another perfect day of 75 degree weather. Everyone seems to speak highly of the BT016 pro's so I'm looking forward to riding on them. If they are better than my 15's which have never caused me an issue I will be estatic.
