Sounds like a plan. Im going to track down them books and have me a good read. Thanks for the info. Thanks coach.BT your a mad dog. Looking good bro. You still on the Body for Life? What ever your doing it is working. Keep up the good work and the positive inspiration for the rest of us.Nope, Body For Life just wasn't workin' out for me. I'm following The Metabolic Typing Diet (There's a book by that title). Body For Life was givin' me too many carbs and my insulin resistant condition was playin' hell on me because of that.
Basically, according to the books I read on metabolic typing I'm a "Protein Type", meaning that I need to intake more proteins and good fats than carbs. I also have to really avoid simple carbs like sugar and starchy foods. I'm not doin' without carbs, I'm just reducin' 'em and restrictin' the types of carbs I eat.
It's workin' like a charm. As soon as I started followin' the suggested diet in the metabolic typing diet my health started improving and my energy levels shot through the roof. The great thing about metabolic typing is that it's not a "static", do this forever kind of thing. Ever so often you re-evaluate your type and change your diet to match your current metabolism type. It's not a one size fits all program like Body For Life, or Atkins. Metabolic typing focuses and fine tunes for individuals.
The two metabolic typing books I bought and read after a busa ridin' bro on another board suggested 'em contain the kind of information I've been lookin' for in a diet system all of my adult life. A lot of the tons of stuff I thought I had learned about what I should and shouldn't be eatin' went out the window. Awesome books!
If you have any interest whatsoever in nutrition and health, the two books I bought are good reads.Sounds like a plan. Im going to track down them books and have me a good read. Thanks for the info.
