Busa banned?

0-100 in three seconds.........WOW..................... I knew Lamb was fast but holy hand-grenades, that's fast!! 0-100 in three seconds, man, it should only take me about 7 or 8 seconds to 186. How do people even keep that kind of power harnessed. People that ride this bike must have super human powers and the reflexes of 3 cats.

Might be a rough landing....ahaa!..a parachute.

i proudly own a 2006 hayabusa and might i suggest a bit more research and thought put into your "opinions"..not only are many of the "facts" not factual and completely one sided..but if we went around ranting and raveing about the social responsibilitys of the likes of you with many missquotes and poor reasearch and non-factual statements...we would save more trees as your subscribers would be tired of reading such poorly stated missconceptions. i am a father of 7 and been rideing motorcycles since i was 16. i have 150,000 miles on high performance motorcycles that not only do i ride back and forth to work everyday (100 miles a day...imagine the gas saveings!!!!! and patriotic actions by supporting the evnviroment and shakeing a fist at the 10 billion a quarter profit earning gas companys) but my children and wife also ride with me whenever we get a moment to relax in our busy lives of raising children..paying bills and being socialy responsible adults. i have only had one accident on a motorcycle..it was just like ben's and under 30 mph but unlike him who had SOMEONE PULL OUT IN FRONT OF HIM wich is still an accident wich he is NOT AT FAULT FOR ...ben was not charged with any traffic violations in this circumstance..so how was he (except professionaly) irresponsible? my accident was late at night in wich after many hours of work (again doing my responsibilitys) i fell asleep. far cry from the missle like actions of social irreverence that you imply all that ride a fuel efficent (yes our numbers are growing due to irresponsible public officals and i hope your wallet likes getting raped by them) motorcycle act in todays society...my goodness...if i was to rant and rave with just blatent dissregard for the facts and slanderous statements grouping all individuals into a self proclamed social group...i would be sued and pennyless...not quite sure how your "journalistic rights" cover ignorance and bigotry. if in my job i was to have such a dissregard for doing my job effectively...i would no longer have a job...unless you are paid to lie and slander..then i would say you are doing your job. i would suggest as a "quality sport journalist" (yes motorcycleing is a sport) and has more participants in it than even the newly founded "snowbording cross" they are adding to the olympics you might retract this offensive piece of gutter trash journalism...its like saying a man robs a bank in a camero..so all camero owners rob banks. use the power of the pen wisely and not foolishly as you have done...influnce others and the youth of this world to not harshly judge and form prejudecies without the facts.

He obviously wrote this article simply because of Roethisberger.... a rich, cocky, 24yr old rider, who rode "the fastest bike" without a helmet! Instead of placing the blame on him, or the cager that turned in front of him, he targets the Hayabusa and everyone who owns one!

But, yeah, I agree that we all break the speed limit every time we jump on our "horse".... I sure do!!! And you better believe that when people buy a Ferrari, Vette, or any high-end sports car.... they're buying them to break speed limits just the same! But he's not calling for a ban on those machines.

I copied before sending. Here's my response to the asshat in question...

I wish the "facts" you represented as truth in your bashing of the Hayabusa were actually true. Unfortunately they aren't. Perhaps on a dyno you could accelerate the bike to 100 mph in 3 seconds in its stock form. I certainly have tried at many drag strips many many times and I cannot do it. Physics forbids it. While flattering, your "facts" are about as truthful as you are a good journalist. NOT!

Great thoughts here guys!!

I to will be writing him a letter and forwarding this to other liter bike riders I know.

Let the .org make a statement!!

I'ts just like the old saying.......guns don't kill people.....people kill people......

Well I don't think a parked motorcycle can hurt anyone....it's only the rider

I don't think they can band the "BUSA". It is mechanically no different than any other bike out there. I know a while back they banned ATV 3 wheelers but yet I still see trikes on the roads still today. If they would do their homework they can figure it out. Take a look at how many BUSA's are on the streets to how many accidents on them, now look at the 600-1000cc bikes and look at the enormous amount of accidents. It's not the bike, in fact most of the time it is IDIOTS driving cars that don't look for motorcycles and sometimes a dumb rider that should never have bought a bike in the first place, so don't blame the bike..

According to this genius we should go back to the good old days of 10mph cars and a guy with a red flag walking in front of them...

And all that safety equipment in cars - so you don't have to pay attention and you can yack on your cellphone, safe in the knowledge that when you take out a motorcyclist it'll hardly dent your plastic fenders....
