Other forums are already planning rides for 05 at Deals Gap. I just want to get our dates down ASAP. I know others will join in when the dates get closer.

Now the month poll is tied, lol. I believe we have decided April it is, we now just need to pick a date. IMO, lets go ahead and nail down the 15th-17th? Even thought I voted for the next weekend, lol.

well I'd vote the 15-17th so that Hooken can make it down again, so lets set that as the date and start getting a plan together for folks that are lurking.

Here's an executive overview of the plan

1) Show up
2) Ride the Dragon in the morning
3) Grab some lunch
4) Ride the Skyway
5) Come back and ride the Dragon some more
6) Try not to burn the place down

and make some dinner
7) Sleep
8) Get up and repeat steps 2-7

The resort worked great for most of us last time, though I'll admit it leaves a LOT from a "hotel" experience but its all about location right

so I'm good with it again. When things get closer we can divy up who's gonna bring what food/beverage/stuff to burn/places to sit, if everyone wants to do that again.

Done. Ron and Nancy,tailofthedragon.com, have just been emailed the dates. We should be listed soon. There are no other events planned in April, yet.

As for accomidations, I will throw Phillips motel in Robbinsville into the mix. Rooms are very affordable there and they have cabins that will sleep 6 or more for $125/ night. Pleanty of room for a gathering and a cook out for a meet and greet.

Another option would be the Treetops owned by Ron and Nancy.

It is a great place to stay. It even has a 30 x 50 garage. I can email them to see what kind of deal they could hook us up on. If we do decide to go that route, we need to move fast. Their cabins typically fill up fast.

I know I will find something from the store(www.mrcycles.com) to give away. I may even round up a few more door prizes from some other companies. With 5+ months to plan lets make this one the best yet!

Another road that we need to ride is Blood Mountain in North Georgia. If you have never been there it is worth the trip. I try to go everytime I am over that way.

OK, we are now listed at tailofthedragon.com. When I emailed Ron and Nancy about the dates I asked about the rates for the cabins. Here is his response.

If you figure 10 rooms at the CROT or any hotel in the area at $50 each/night, this would be a major bargin.

I mean really ... you won't have your bike, sure the weather will be nice but it will be nice in the mountains too

I think you need to re-arrange your trip and come with us to the dragon .... you've only got 5months notice ... how much more do you need

just messin with ya but seriously, you should come up there ... at least once .... and you can even bring your hubby and his HD cuz there's always plenty of them HD folks up there

well I'm ok with it if we can fill it up a little ..... I'm OK with the "resort" if its just gonna be 5 of us

Just to give you an idea, I'm figurin on $100ish for the hotel for the 2nights
