I would like to get some type of consensus of what dates are the best for everyone. Will post the dates by the end of July. So hurry up and vote if your interested in coming out to this great event... I just started this thread, and thought well I cant find the one I seen....so here goes and there are more places to ride here Michelle then the Gap, trust me on that one....that you would enjoy...I started a poll as well to see what would be a good date...check it out girl....

I'll admit, I'm skeered...
I hit the twisties with the VA guys last fall and had a blast, but I could feel it for days afterwards and they weren't anything like Deal's Gap!!! No preference on a date since I'm not sure I'll be able to attend...battle amongst yourselves!

I will probally make my fall trip the end of September, the 30th - Oct 2nd. If looks like my wife, her sister and son will be making the journey.
I will probally end up at Fontana Village in one of their cabins.

Michelle, you gotta come down for this one! We normally only ride the dragon a few times and the area roads are SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO much better that we just ride those most of the day. Last time we did a couple of nice routes around the area, starting and ending at the dragon for those that wanted to chew up more tire 
so if you come, bring the hubby cuz the HD's run wild up there too ..... just tell him he's gotta ride in the back, that thing is LOUD

Ill be there labor day weekend, only time I could make it. When is that, its early in the month isnt it?
I will be there at least for Friday and Saturday nights. Whenever it is planned for.

Kim just found out that Sept 30th-Oct 2nd has to be the dates she can get off. So we are truly hoping that is the date for the bash.
We won't be heading up there until late Friday night and might get in at 4am. I have to teach an evening class on Friday so it really all depends on how tired, or stoked I am (do they say that anymore?). We will plan on staying from Saturday through the following Wednesday. We fighre here's no sense in driving for that time and not staying longer.
Not sure where to say.
-The Phillips was nice and cheap, kind of strange location though.
-CROT is where the action is and the food is better, but the rooms SUCK.
-Tapco is nice but the rooms are expensive for the area, but it has BEER.
-Two wheel inn (www.twowheelinn.com) is a new place advertised that has an attached garage for motorcycles. The rates are the same as the Phillips and it's in Robbinsville also.
I really depends on where the group stays, but I vote on the Two wheel inn. It's new. The rooms look PERFECT, especially compared to all of the above. Plus a GARAGE, nice and cosy for all the busas. Not that Robbinsville has that much crime, I just wasn't too comfortable with the display of the "steal me busa fest" at the Phillips. Not that CROT is much better either. Just my .02
All this is tenative on my mother's condition. It's in the Lord's hands at this point, but we are hoping for the best.
I suppose it also depends on the weather. Last year's bash was canceled due to rain. So far this year has started off with a bang, tropically speaking. I just hope the mountians aren't pounded again. I really don't mind riding in rain usually. But when you add up curves, rain, leaves, and idiots on two wheels, you usually don't have a good outcome. Plus there is not much to do for rainy day activities.
I guess Kevin and creekboy would be our best sources of info, lord knows the weather channel is worthless.
Can't wait till the trip. Looking forward to seeing everyone.

Sept 16-18 is when the Yamaha FJR1300s are having a meet there, and since my Brother rides an FJR he is going, so I was planning to go with him. So I will be there anyway.

Labor Day weekend would be Sep 2nd(Friday) to Sept 5th(Monday). On holidays you can count on that area being packed....
