Busa intimidating

buy the bike! you wont regret it...
until you make your first payment :poke:

after that you'll love it again... its an emotional rollercoaster!!
it does 2up like a rockstar...

MSF begginners course=used older bike/begginer bike
MSF experienced course=ride previous bike like you stole it
OR
get a NEWer bike... bigger bike

Sportbike class=get a sport bike

i took the sportbike class with my GS500.. awsome class

redid all the events with the busa... no difference really.. speed still the same
takes alittle more input to get the busa to move around. i would say the difference in rear tire size would be the biggest factor!

i love my bike no regrets... if things go my way i'll regear it.. and as many comfort items to it as possible and let the wife have it... she rides it and likes it.. going from an boulivard S-40(650cc) to the busa... she can handle it!! :cheerleader:

Im 6'3" 230 and i only use mine for commuting. My 08 is my third bike, 2nd sport bike, i had a kawi zx 6 b4, and i love the busa. I think its perfect for commuting and touring. Ive only had mine a little over a week and ive got a couple thou on it already. In my opinion, prolly one of the better if not best sport bikes for that kinda application

Wow it really sounds like the busa's are very comfortable and are really ideal as an all around sport bike.A big part of the reason im intimidated is because of all the accidents i read about, whenever i read about it i just think of my family im not so much scared for me its i want to be around for them. When i had my bike i only let loose at the track i never played around on the street i was just to worried i guess.Im hoping to to ride the bike that i want when i go to md. for thanksgiving so if i do ill report back on how it went.Again thank you for everybodys advice its helping make my decision that much easier.

Im a little gun shy because of the accidents i hear about its no so much a busa thing as it could relate to all bikes.Ive decided with everybodys help that a busa is the right bike for me it will do everything i want and then some.Im still kind of on the fence because i have a family to take care and i would like to hear everybodys input on how they cope with it.

it's a "tamed horse" and has no problem producing "mustang" like behavior when needed. i think you'll like it, most of us here do. i have a 3yr old and i remind myself every time go out to ride somewhat responsibly.

44yo here. I use the busa mainly for commuting 126 miles round trip. I'm a year rounder but lately opting out to ride here during extreme wind storm although I know busa can handle it. I have no issue riding the busa she is comfy, and yes like everyone stated here you just have to respect her power otherwise it maybe your last time to ride her. Welcome

Where i live there's not too much traffic unless i go downtown(penn state)there are a lot of back roads and urban areas to enjoy. Its been so long since i rode id have to take it easy for a while.I plan on getting a bright jacket and modulating headlight and taking the msf course is there anything else safety related that would be a good idea?I would like to find a club around central pa to go riding with and get some more experience.

I'm 62 and still riding my Busa, my third. I love the Busa. Its everything I've ever wanted a motorcycle to be. Over the years, I've had a lot of different motorcycles and this is my all time favorite. Welcome...

A few months ago I did a 14 hour trip on mine and felt just as good at the end of the trip as I did at the beginning. I have a wife and 2 kids. They are on my mind every time I go out. Whenever I get the itch in my right wrist and know I shouldn't be messing around, the thought of them calms me back down. The first time my wife followed me, she got a little upset because she thought I was going to fall off the bike when I went around corners. Kind of funny, but It helps with the wrist control knowing it does bother her a bit. Kids think it's cool. My daughter wants to get gear so that she can ride with me some. She wants me to pick her up from school so bad. As for reading about accidents and having the thoughts you do, I am sure any bike rider thinks the same. Atleast I know I do. It got to the point when I first got her, that I wouldn't read them because I didn't want to go out and ride and when I did, I couldn't think of nothing but that. Now, I take it as a learning tool of what to watch out for on hte road and what to da and not do. Get the Busa man, you won't regret it. Take it easy, learn the bike, respect what she has to offer, and everything will come when it is time. Thank of it this way, when you first get a chick in bed, you don't go wide open throttle the first time do ya? You take it slow, learn good positioning, and enjoy the ride. Have fun out there bro and be safe. Maybe I'll have the chance to ride with you one day.

The jacket is a great idea. The headlight modulator might be another story. Some people are on the fence about them. I think it's drunk driver bait. They will fixate on the flashing light. Just like they do when they hit the cop car with the overheads going. The cop car thing happed to my buddy last week. We did catch the guy too.

Long story short I have put a set of 6k HID's on mine. since then no one has pulled out infront of me. The 6k's let you be seen when the sun is setting behind you. The choice is yours.

Thanks for the info on the modulating headlight i didnt even think about people fixating on them,i think id read go with the 6k hid's.Reading about the accidents and trying to learn from them is good advice i want to learn as much as i possibly can.A few days ago it was sunny here and in the high 60's and i was thinking how nice it would be to be on a bike.I know for racing it on the weekends it would be a lot cheaper to run then a car=mileage i live 60 miles from the track, repairs, etc.I had my picture of my zx9 blown up and its on my fridge and i reminded of how much fun it was!
