Cager rear-ended me

I've seen bikes in less damage where the rider didn't make it, so this is one of those times you need to thank the creator because it could have all been over. I'm thankful you're fine and okay to buy and ride another busa in the near future. Somebody's praying for you bro!

1. Give yourself "mad props", as they say, for having the where-with-all to ride that one out somehow.  fortunately, you were not fully stopped or it could have been much worse (at least you had some forward inertia).  It's exactly these stories that prompt me to always take a look behind me, leaving it in low gear, when slowing up for a red light.

2. Go to church and pray/thank God you and your daughter (not there fortunately) were not killed or seriously injured.

3. Don't sign any kind of settlement w/ insurance or defendant until you get a lawyer.

4. Get thoroughly checked out by a doctor/specialist again, especially if you start to feel some pain coming out over the next few months or longer.  Pain/mobility limitations stemming from these injuries may take a very long time.
Although the idiot deserves to pay for his mistakes, don't claim any BS lawsuits. There's enough scumbags doing that these days.

5.  Let us know how things progress in regards to getting a new ride...07' or otherwise.

day-um man, that really sux about your bike-looks pretty mangled:(

+10000 on everything Over_easy said there-especially with the doctor!!! You may even want to see a ciropractor, as I would suspect IF there was any latent dmg to your body, it would be centered around your back/neck from absorbing the impact shock...give yourself a few days off from the gym, so you don't tear anything that's already injured either.

SO glad I'm not reading about another injured rider in this thread-big props for riding outa that crash!
Hey, if you buy your bike back from ins. n part it out, do it here first we'll take care'a ya.:)

WOW!! He was admiring your bike!! Glad to hear you are ok. And good job keeping it up, good thing there was no one going through the intersection at the time.

Thank you everyone for your support. I hope I get the chance to meet you all sometime. I'm a teacher so I feel guilty taking off time during the school year. I would love to make it to one of those busa bash's some summer.
The guy told the cop that his lunch bag fell over and he bent over to pick it up and when he looked up, he was too close to turn without hitting me. I went by the scene today and there are no skid marks. LUCKY!!
There goes my chance at winning the lottery

Man glad your OK, and glad your Daughter wasn't with you. Looks like you had Angels with you as well. Now it looks like were both waiting to see what 07 holds in store for the Busa.

Thank God your daughter wasn't on the bike. Angels were definitely with you. You can always replace a bike, but, people can't be replaced. Hug that daughter of yours.

Hopefully, you can get over this quickly (recovery, insurance hassles, lawyers, etc.) and get back on a bike.

Other threads have talked about info on the '07 Suzuki dealer show on 9/28/06.

Good luck to you and get well soon.

+1 ...except rearrange the order of #1 and #2.

Many blessings!

I am glad your OK, that is one thing that I now worry about. Last year I had a bad accident, A lady ran a stop sign and I hit her. But a week later as I was layed up, a good friend's son got rear ended at a stop sign. He suffered a few broken bones, and cuts. Again glad your OK, and enjoy buying a new bike.

WOW!! You are lucky!! SOmeone was watching over you and your daughter!! Count your blessings!! I know it sucks losing your bike but believe it or not that is nothing in the big picture!! Like everyone else has said watch for back and neck problems that will appear out of nowhere in a day or week or month due to this. I do not know if I agree with the lawyer thing yet. See what the doctors say and insurance company say first. Also you would have to hold me back dealing with an idiot like that saying he was admiring your bike as he plows into you doing 20, 30 ,40 whatever? A$$hole!! Take care of yourself bro!!

You must pray a lot don't you?

If not, you'd damn sure better start. Glad you're OK dude.

Amazing, I cant believe you got off without a scratch. I gotta say congrats on that side, but I'm sorry to see your baby in that shape though.
