Hey Head East, not to dash your memories, but Pa. doesn't feel the way it did anymore :unhappy: I'm in the stix far enough that I can still carry a rifle out the front door without stirring anyone up, and we can get ammo...price is rocketing. Too many peeps wants to be sheeps. Oh, and when I refer to guys In Cali as dumbadZZ's I mean "Fellow DumbadZZ's" :o
Oh I figured it would happen and thanks to our current Pres. it has happened even faster. No surprise to me though.I am just waiting to hear "we didnt think this would happen" then I will fall off my couch laughing, break a rib and then die of a collapsed lung because health care says I am too old to fix... (but I will be laughing)

My feelings:
simply put Yes I believe we are failing. But what do you expect too many politicians and way too much special interest. We are wasteful with our tax money we provide benefits to people who do not even want to try to work. We over spend on all public city maint. We raise taxes and do not try to find creative ways to actually bring work into the state such as tax breaks for large businesses because then the local govt. would not see the amount of money they want and at the same time we end up restricting job opportunities which would provide them additional tax money by taxing the employees with the jobs that we bring in. We seem to believe a 4000 sq ft home in the right area should be worth 8 million dollars and then we increase property taxes and make sure to pass the bill on to middle class people (if there are any anymore at this point your doing well if you can live month to month.). the gap between middle and upper is becoming so widely divided that pretty soon it's going to be lower and upper class without any middle. We spend ridiculous amounts of money coming up with new and creative ways to make laws that further restrict our freedoms that re not limited to my love of shooting but do include smog of motorcycles and now diesel powered vehicles. We water pavement and let plants die yet we claim to be green. We allow corporations to get away with overcharging for energy (who was Enron again) with no repercussions. We fight to give rights to people who enter the country looking for a better life and at the same time limit the availability of these same rights to people who have worked hard and need assistance but do not qualify because they were born here ( I'm not saying that we should absolutely not help others in need but we should be equal in what and how we do it.). I am a legal owner of firearms however I cannot buy cheaper ammo online anymore because well there is no good reason. Now the state is trying to limit the amount of ammo I can buy from another person and if I do buy it from a store I will need to be fingerprinted and it will need to be documented every time. If by chance I do go out with friends to shoot at a range they cannot hand me more than 50 rounds ( bout 10 mins of decent shooting I reload fast and have extra clips.) now we have become criminals if my friend hands me more than 50 rounds in a months time. We have banned "assault" rifles and high capacity clips (bear with me there is more than gun control on my mind but this is currently what I'm watching the closest.) because the guys who broke into a costa contra county Sherrifs station and stole several assault rifles shotguns and ammo from the Sheriff and CHP vehicles were most definitely law abiding citizens such as myself who registered and went through the correct waiting process. We tax small business heavily and make it difficult for them to succeed and provide jobs to other people in want and need of employment. Instead of trying to get more businesses and companies to locate here we use law enforcement to generate revenue and increase fines making it harder for middle class people who make a minor traffic error to live day to day. I could go on and I know it's a lot I'd be impressed in anyone made it to the end of this and before anyone else asks Yes I am most definitely working on leaving problem is it cost a lot to live here limiting the amount of money I can save to leave. Fortunately my company will give me the opportunity to relocate as I move up the chain and I can't wait to get to the point in my career when I can get the hell outta here figure it's gonna be about two more years of this cr@p and hopefully things won't get any worse and delay that move. I want mountains and trees real trees and a place to fish and hunt and where your neighbors are actually neighbors and want to say hi when they see you but enough for now sorry probably more than you wanted
yes it does and it's unfortunate that we just let it. It seems we forgot there is a process in place that allows motivated people to make a stand and needed changes.
I vote not only in presidential elections but all state and local elections. If you exercise your right to vote - vote in the most important elections (local). In many jurisdictions a few thousand or a few hundred votes may be cast and the decisions these politicians make probably will affect your life more than state or federal politics. Also, almost all state and federal politicians spring board from local offices. So if we all elected good local officials chances are we would have better state and federal officials.
We (californians) can lane share though.
If you Make 100K in California you are still Poor...............That's the Differance :2cents:
We (californians) can lane share though.
If you don't vote, don't b!tch!
California is the seventh largest economy on earth I believe. California has been in the hands of liberals for as long as I can remember and as Reverend Wright would say, "California, your chickens,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,are coming home to roost"! Sadly, it seems the reverend Wright was correct about our country as well.
All this money our current administration has rat holed disguised as a stimulus package will not be spent until the next election year. Imaging that? Spending your childrens money to buy votes.
Brack Obama, Mmm, Mmm, Mmm!
Yet since 1943 CA has only had 2 Democrats as Gov.
To simply label this as a problem based on Liberal this or that undermines all the problems faced by not only California but the nation as a whole and further polarizes the issues. Nothing good can come of finger pointing and name calling.
United we stand, divided we fall.
I agree that name calling and laying blame does nothing more than drive the spike deeper and make the crack wider.
But Dino, California has had 3 Democrats as governer since that time. From Wikipedia's list of California governers.
But as we all know the "top dog" does not and can not do it by himself. SO it is a combination of the House, Senate and the Top Dog that help get us in this mess. And where does it all start? At the very bottom with us. By voting uneducated or worse NOT VOTING at all. We as Americans can really only blame ourselves for this mess that we are in. We complain that the government did this or did that. But stop and think who the government is and how they got there.
Vote locally as was stated before and maybe just maybe in a 100 years we can see some change.
Just my opinion. I may be wrong, but given facts I am able to see the error of my ways and change.
We need to take our country back.
