Checking Chain for Slack

Another issue that goes along with chain adjustment is wheel alignment. I always use a stringline to properly align the rear wheel with the front. Once the wheels are aligned (forget alignment by the marks or swingarm, align the wheels so they track perfectly) it's very easy to keep them in alignment. Wheel alignment should be part of your suspension setup.

Your bikes performance depends on your suspension being properly set up! There is nothing any sweeter than romping a bike when the suspension is singing sweet tunes and nothing any worse than a suspension where one end doesn't know what the other end is doing!

That is called laden chain tension... and is used mainly on motocross bikes. It is used on high suspension travel bikes it sets the swingarm height to the weight of the rider at standard compression of suspension and you should have a certain amount of slack for when the suspension is compressed landing from a jump so it does not bind up the chain. When setting race sag on a motocross bike and adjusting to the weight of the rider different conditions such as track type track conditions etc call for different chain tensions and suspension settings to perform better for that race.

good to know, guess i should check my **** :)
