Cops with loud pipes? Arrrrgh

I say good for them. I have never been given a ticket for loud pipes, but I have seen people get them (usually idiots that deserved numerous tickets). The police don't make the laws, but they do get paid to enforce them. I am for anything that keeps the officer safe and going home to his/her family everyday. The sad part is that they will probably be forced to take the pipes off as well. Too many people try to make the world perfect and it only makes things harder.

loud pipes saves lives? right. uh Doppler effect....! dont think so. besides it still doesnt take into account skill level or lack there of and alcohol, ego no helmet or any other gear cause god knows ya gotta look cool cause well ya gotta look cool.??? i guess. oh and i need that tshirt!

Yes sir. They are standing up and doing what is right in this situation. It could help all of us.

So the police breaking the law is standing up and doing the right thing? How so? Would they accept that excuse from me? I doubt it.

i am not going to argue with you that skill level is very important, however the big-baggers that the cops ride on are not nearly as nimble as our bikes. if they are in someone's blind spot on a highway, the cager will probably hear them now, or feel the vibrations from the new pipes...

Why be mad? if anything we should be happy this is just showing that the police dissagree with that particular law.

Plus to be honest with you i have never seen in my area a bike cop giving a ticket for something stupid like loud pipes. alot of them stop and talk to me about my bike.

Probably not, cosidering that there is apparent malice from you towards Law Enforcement. There are exceptions to every law. There is nothing bad about a regular aftermarket pipe, but a bike that has a drag pipe on it revving the hell out of it just to get on peoples nerves is wrong.

This thread was started just to anger people towards the police. That in it's self is wrong. Todays society is just looking to get by with whatever they can and try to blame anything they can on law enforcement. There was another earlier quote that law enforcement in that area just got approved to speed. That's because when all people, (those who like us and those who hate us), call for help, we get there as fast as we can.

I tell people this everyday. " You can hate us if you want. We are just doing our job. And when you need us, we will be there. Ever time, night or day."
So, stop pounding the police. Yes there are bad cops out there, but we aren't all bad people.

Individuals should become angery when cops or any other public official breaks the law.

I agree there are good cops and bad cops but when an entire department disregards a law that they themselves are supposed to uphold it is an instutional problem not a problem with an individual officer.

As for speeding I am not talking about with lights and sirens on, of course that is acceptable.

As for me having malace toward law enforcement it actually extends to any individual or institution that abuses their authority. You just happen to hear about it more in law enforcement.

Seems that those in power or with power are the first exclude themselves from laws:rofl:

Which is the reason for all the corruption around us from LEO to federal an local government.

Which why I am going to run for office... vote for me an get your cut in the action:rofl:

I want to make a point saying that loud pipes dont make your neighbors happy when you feel the need to go full throttle down the street and rev when pulling in or out of your driveway... im the only one on my street that is courteous of my neighbors I guess:moon:

I don't know of any cops pulling people just for loud pipes unless they are being abnoxious, i.e. intentionally reving the engine in town to make alot of noise.

Of course there are varying degrees of loudness, however, as far as the law is concerned it doesn't matter if it is 1db or 10db louder if it is above the legal limit.

I disagree. This is the passing of information to keep an eye on big brother who keeps a large gun pointed at us all the time. Who should feel angry again?

I tell people this everyday. " You can hate us if you want. We are just doing our job.
And I say this every time someone says that. You can't break the law to do your job. Laws and procedures exist for a reason. The ONLY way the many draconian laws can exist, which should not exist, is through complicity by law enforcement. Hitlers SS was just doing their job and it wasn't an excuse then.

And when you need us, we will be there. Ever time, night or day."

I didn't see anywhere in this thread where anyone claimed all LEO's were "bad people". And you, more than anyone else in this thread, assuming you are a LEO, should also know that the police have no legal obligation to "be there" for anyone.

I applaud citizens who do a job a lot of us wont do but to rationalize that it's ok for the police to openly and brazenly snub their collective noses at the law is wrong.

I doubt anyone one on this forum has received a citation from the Oakland PD for excessive exhaust noise.

i think the pipes are cool i can hear them coming. and as far as the speeding goes the law states that all traffic laws are to be obeyed unless code 3 is authorized and then it must be lights and sirens to alert the public .

I think I just lost a lung laughing.... most liberal state in the union going 1%?

I think we need to pack a bunch of PJ's T shirts up and send them to them..
