Crazy neighbor.....

While out shoveling just now, one of my neighbors from down the street was out walking and we stopped and chatted.

Unbeknownst to me, he has/(had) an '05 Gixxer 1K with around 10,000kms on it (which is nothing).

He said he wasn't riding it and it was stuck in a corner of his garage so he traded it to an owner of a local "speed shop" for some custom work on his truck....

Made sense to me as if it isn't getting ridden and would probably take forever to sell, might as well get something out of it...he may come out ahead in the deal depending on what he gets done on his truck (it's just a Chevy so what can be done?)

I can get a 05 gsxr1000k5 with 36000kms from a dealer for NZ$8000, so they are bottoming out in price soon.... the market is stuffed coz very very few young people want one of these bikes, and Hayabusa’s as well.... it’s nearly over for superbikes...

Yep, I see the same bikes on the market for a long time...

One of the neighbors who moved away was trying to sell a pristine R6 and it just never sold...I told him it's too much insurance for a new rider and too small a bike for an experienced rider.

My son was in the market for a bike and he priced out insurance for that R6 and could have bought a used car for the price of insurance...

One of my other neighbors is getting his S1000RR delivered this week. The dealership really danced through hoops when he agreed to take the S bike instead of the M bike.

He told me I should get rid of "that old yellow thing" and get a new Hayabusa as they look decent. I told him my "old yellow thing" isn't going anywhere anytime soon....

Neighbor got his bike and he rolled past the house last night, it is a decent looking bike but doesn't look any different than the one he traded in...

I was out walking this morning and got hailed over by a neighbor down the street...

His wife started wanting a bike again and he bought her a new CB500F (he rides...rode a CBR1k). while at the Honda shop he saw a CBR500R and decided to trade his 1K on it as he figured they'd have more fun riding together if they were on comparable bikes...

As soon as he got the CBR500 home, his wife said now she will be able to pass him as she's a lot lighter and on a bike with the same power....he told me he should have kept the liter bike as it will be a sad day to say "my wife passed me."

All those posts and it took this long for a response to my "just a Chevy" retort....

I expected a Chevy person to get excited much sooner....LOL!
I grew up with Ford trucks but I like the way GM trucks seating wise better.

I too grew up with Ford trucks....learned to drive a 3 on the tree when I was 11 or so...

I had 4 F150s back to back then went to Ram-so far it has been decent.

We had a lot of GM 2500 trucks in the military and they broke at an alarming rate...and they weren't overly abused like some thought they were.

I personally think they are all pretty much the same these days.
