Ha! Riding my old CBX like the one I have now, both had/have Progressive suspension front and rear, I left Alice’s Restaurant one day and I was reelin with the feelin. Soooo, after riding it like I stole it for a few miles till I came to a stop sign, a rider instantly pulled up next to me and reached over to shake my hand. Didn’t know him but apparently he was closely following me on a much newer bike and just wanted to congratulate me I guess. Made me feel pretty good as he turned off a different route riding a new R6.

I had a guy do that on an e-Bicycle...

Look at the crazy "I don't really want to sell it" price on this thing...

I put some miles on 2 different V65 Sabres some time ago. In 89 I bought one and really had fun with it for about 5 years... funny thing is I don't remember when I sold it. Then, not long after I found a 85 V65 Sabre with the full Hondaline fairing on it. I soon discovered that triple digit speeds would damage the lower parts of the fairing so I removed them completely and continued on. Don't remember selling that one either... I know it was after I found a 89 V Max that I eventually traded for a 1990 ZX-11.

Anyway.... sometime later after 2011 I found a 3rd V65 Sabre and it was apparent how inferior the handling of it was compared to the ZX-11 and so I got rid of it after perhaps a month had passed... no need to return to the flexible frame and less effective brakes of the 80s. The V65 Sabre was only produced for 2 years... 84 and 85. The Magna had more years of good sales starting in 1983 when Jay Gleason... the hired 1/4 mile gun put the Magna in the record books with runs in the 10s which for 1983 was pretty quick. One of Honda's best commercials !

This video has some interesting comments from the creator that is riding a V65 Magna.

I remember that ad. I was a kid in the family room. "They did it!" I exclaimed. My dad looked up from his want ads...

Got to ride a Magna V65 years later. Loved it. Though the cruiser ergo's limiting.

I knew a few guys that had both the Sabre and Magna.....

Suzuki had a V-4 cruiser known as a Madura that was pretty potent as well...just as quick as the Magna but wasn't very popular...

Once the V-Max came out it pretty much killed off all the muscle cruisers....Kawasaki came out with the Eliminator to fight against the V-Max but failed to take the crown....

Then Yamaha de-tuned the V-Max.

.........ahhhh, the good 'ol days........

That is because you never owned a V4 one long enough to experience the good side of V4s. With the right exhaust combo they could be made to sound very similar to a V8 muscle motor. Dale Walker had a website years ago where he fixed some of the gremlins and made hot rod parts for these 1st gen V Max

I noticed one fact in the details that matched my mathematical guess as to the top speed of the Magna being 177 mph if redline was hit in 6th gear... I wonder if anybody ever engineered a nitrous system for one of these? They said these bikes went 155 mph... I could never get mine past 145... and that was likely a bit optimistic.

Hi. I was a buyer for a used dealer I bought over 2,590 bikes and test road then. They sold a lot of bikes like 25 in one day. I would do the east coast and the mid west evan to Texas with a 52 ft double stack trailer. I bought everything from boss horse big blocks to 50 and 70 cc Honda's.

Hi. I think that I have ridden more bikes than any one here. I could drive 5000 miles and come back and than go for a ride on my bike.

A friend of mine has the first gen Panigale V4...and it sounds exactly like 2 V-twin Ducatis coming down the road, imagine that, lol
