I while back I ended up in hospital with an inflamed pancreas. I could not eat or drink for like 9 days. Stood up outa bed one morning and face planted,to weak to get up on my own. Roomate called an ambulance. A week in hospital, lost 50 pounds.IV fluids and vitamins kept me alive. Upon release I was told to never consume alcohol again.Got my 50 pounds of body weight back with weights, protien shakes while on the recomended zero percent fat diet.
Things whent well for about 8 months. Then, fell off the wagon. Hit the bottle hard again. Lasted about 4 months before being hospitalized again.
Now my pancreas is severely fugged up. Told I am lucky to be alive. Ooops. Now back on the wagon, but the damage is done. The pancreas is an organ that does not regenerate or magically get better. No cure,no surgery,no meds is what the experts told me. I am looking at a lifetime no fat diet and of course no boose.I may not survive the next time.

So,this is a friendly warning to my friends out there in Hayabusa Land. If you drink, please do so in moderation. If you can quit,or never start please do so.I drank a 60 ounce bottle of whiskey every 2-2 1/2 days, plus drugs. My life is hereby fugged. Too many HUGE bad choices. I have officially hit rock bottom...by my own hand. Gone is everything,house,6 cars n trucks, many motorcycles, job, family, friends. They couldn't stand by and just watch me kill myself...I dont blame them.

I know live in a shitty 1 bedroom apt with a friend/roomate who has her own issues.Alcoholic,pills(T3'sT4's with codein, crack cocain. Not the best enviorment for me,but I stay because its all I can afford and I will stand by her side as she attempts to clean up her act. I have taken out the trash...(her circle of so-called friends).

So my friends, this has been a puplic service message from your friend, RubberSideReallyDown.

Still have my Turbo Busa and an old 2005 Acura RSX. Over a million dollars spent/lost on good times(travel, bikes, cars, houses, apt's,women, drugs, boose, stuff, etc)since 2010. ALL GONE.

So folks,be good to your pancreas...dont drink, dont end up like Da Rubb.

Rubb.

Thanks for the advisory, I quit drinking to improve my well being . . . And it worked.
I fully endorse what you have stated here.
One thing I’ve always wondered, how on Earth did Keith Richards survive booze and drugs in the excessive non stop merry go round he was on?

Get some Taurine at a health food store. It will bring down the inflammation in the pancreas and help them in the long run. 1 gram twice a day.

Rubb good to see you here again man. Always wonder how you are doing. Glad you managed to hang onto the beast that you own (busa).

As you should know by now, no one has “issues” with cocaine, especially crack cocaine. They’re either a junkie or they’re not doing coke and you can’t trust (anyone) who’s a junkie, even your own brother or sister. Move or get another housemate.

Thanks for sharing your experience, Rubb. I live in a shitty one bedroom apartment too but I'm actually on the way back up after getting divorced 11 years ago. Got this job and moved out of Mom and Dad's 2 year ago. I polish off a couple 12 packs/week and I definitely see it around my gut. It's about time I give it up. I never drank in my youth so why start now? The thing is drinking really isn't a very expensive habit if you do it out of the bars. I can see how a person could make that a lifestyle real easy. Keep your bikes. fins something else to ease your mind and you could have a very long life ahead of you. Especially being that you'll be eating almost no fat that's a big health advantage right there. It would be ironic if this ends up improving your health after all is said and done. Good luck to us both. You start yet? 2-3 days and you got it NEVER go back.

Hi Rubb. I wish you and your friend all the luck in the world, STAY STROMG.

Rubb, that's tough to live through and even tougher to talk about, so thank you for that. You have to think about every moment for a while to help you set the foundation to stay on the wagon. Can't speak from personal experience, but know others that have fought severe addiction and have managed to get through. There may be any number of things that kill anyone, but don't tempt fate with something you will could be the end - as hard as that is. We are here for you if you need us. Stay strong, brotha!
