Took the Busa out this morning for a quick breakfast in 2nd Street, Long Beach, CA and it seems vehicles love to pass you in your lane and make right turns around you at the intersections.

How often has a vehicle attempted to cut infront of you to make a right turn?

I make sure vehicles dont pass me in my lane thats why i ride down the center of my lane.
Do cars see me? They better see me.

Do cars see us?
Do they see us? Are you kidding?????

HECK No they don't see us. Bikes are effin invisible to cars. Everybody knows that!

Ride in packs that helps:thumbsup:

That happens to me on a nightly basis and drive AN 18 WHEELER!!!!!! In the truck all I can do is slam the brakes on and throw the HIGH beams on'em.
On the busa I just get back in front of them and show them who's boss:laugh:

i was riding right beside a lady on a 4 lane highway last summer with no other cars around and she changed lanes right on top of me. why? no idea. thank goodness the busa has good brakes. i think people just arent used to looking for bikes or something

In answer to your question, I'd have to say maybe. Maybe they see us but they're not looking for us.

1. Everyone is in a hurry to get somewhere these days.
2. Drivers of passenger vehicles are typically looking for other "passenger" vehicles.
3. The typical driver doesn't obey traffic signs, particularly speed and stop signs.
4. The typical driver gives only a quick glance prior to entering a roadway, turning onto another or changing lanes.
5. The typical driver these days is inundated with distractions within their own vehicles (radio, cell calls, texting, talking GPS ... ).
6. The typical roadside is cluttered with traffic signal/telephone poles and signs (these are most dense at intersections).

These are probably the most common factors that result in motor vehicle collisions, I'm sure you can think of a couple more. When you take just one or combine any of them you're going to have a collision, its just a matter of when. Unfortunately, the small profile of a motorcycle makes it the most likely target for the when.

For the hot heads out there, there's not a score to settle. Chances are they didn't see you or didn't realized that they saw you. If they did see you and realize it, it was probably at the very moment that they crapped themselves. No one is out to get you! People are people and react in different ways, those who act aggressively after nearly missing you are more than likely mad because you scared the living bejesus out of them.

If you want change then take ownership of it!

.....PS, I am new here, whos going to give me a nice warm welcome:welcome: Four years ago we went to mertyle beach for bike week. We were goin to eat one night and i had my young nephew riding with me. The group signaled to turn left and we had plenty of room so i started to turn also. A dumnazz in a suburban sped up and cut me off. We had to go about a quarter mile further and turn around and come back. He did it out of spite, and I,m not a fightin person but at that point if i coulda got to him one of us woulda toted a azz whoopin

I learned my lesson when I had my accident. It was a day before Christmas 12/24/03 and I was on my way from work. I was three two turns from my house! I made a right turn and got into the middle lane. Just as I'm about to put it into 3rd gear BOOM..... A 18 year old female on the otherside of the road turn right into my line of path. I smack the car luckly up by the front wheel base. it was a car in the lane onthe leftside of me so I couldn't see jack. I didn't even have time to break. When I woke up they was getting me ready to be put into the helicopter. I spent three weeks in the hospital and after 14 years in the Marines I had to wind up getting out medically for injures that I substain in the accident. Come to find out she had that kind of insurance that people have when no one else will insure you so I wind up haveing to sue Geico cause the military wanted their money since it was a third party involved. Now I ride beside no one and I pay close attention to everything around me trying to guest what they might do. Sorry for the long story

As said ride as if they are out for you.I hate when they pull infront of you so you cant pass and then sit there next to the other guy.I always wait for them to move or wave me on at an intersection.
