Does the Captain want a New Busa?

Maybe I should read the front, Cache. Did he win the baord lottery?

Sorry, is he without so much that he can't fend for himself.

I'm not a harsh guy, I am just wondering. Is he not capable? Enthusiastic? Disabled? Driven? Without ambition?

I am NOT trying to be the azz here, but, what is the purpose for this charity?

Can someone else sign up for next months prize?

I am all for everyone who wants one to have a Hayabusa, but the question still stands.

Try not to hate me, it is a natural question.

Well cookie the Cap'n runs the site out of his own pocket with considerable expense. He doesn't charge for the site either, so those of us who would like to repay him are seeing if we can accomplish this. It is ok not to contribute if you do not feel like it, you will not be ostracized or jeered. We just thought it would be a nice way to pay him back for all the hard work and time he puts into the site. Plus having a board administrator without a busa just seems wrong. We want to ensure the site runs for a while longer and to do that we need to make sure that Cap realizes what a great site he has here.

short version: sold his busa to build a new house for the family. now, ppl wanna chip in so he can have another one.

Well I have been putting this off but you have officially asked for my involvement so here we go. I was actually hoping that the combined efforts of the group would work against each other but I see that the opposite has happened. While I find it extremely flattering that you guys would go to this much trouble for me and I miss my Busa more than you can imagine I dont think that my pride would allow me to accept such a gift. I believe in honor and integrity and my wife adds to that list stupidity. I have never been able to accept gifts expecially when I do not feel like I deserve such a thing. There is a huge amount of guilt that I already feel from the guys on the board offering up large amounts of money to participate in the effort to buy me a new bike. I know that there are guys sacrificing money they have worked hard for and then offering to buy me something, I don't know that I could accept a gift like the one that you guys are talking about. I am a fairly successful guy with a wife and two kids, a new house and no job (hahahahaha). I sold my bike so that I could build the house and have a little extra cash to get my wife everything that she deserved. I absolutely have full intentions of getting another busa but not sure when it will happen. You cannot believe how much I appreciate the offer and the organized effort is applaudable, normally you cant get more than 3 folks on this board to agree on anything but in this case everyone seems to be in concert.

I haven't charged on the site for the same reasons as I mentioned above and in previous post, I never wanted people to have to pay to participate in the group. This board is made up of a bunch of great people some have a little extra money and some barely make ends meet. If you guys decide to go forward with this project then I need a promise from everyone that they will only donate what they can afford. There is no way on this green earth that you me or anyone else could say no to a new BUSA.

I see now, guys. Seems like a great guy. What a great gesture for sure.

I know full well what it is like to lose my Hayabusa. It wakes me in the middle of the night twitching in full sweat.

I will help where I can.

Chris

Well boyz and girlz, Though I have only been on here a VERY short while, I have read for hours and hours. And like others am simply amazed at the group effort. So this being the case I'm in as well. Will look for the poll and get in there as well.

May I say what an awesome group of people, and I hope to meet a lot of you guys someday, somewhere.

Last but not least..........Thanks for the Site Cap'n!!!

Rev, you have a point. Im not hear everyday or postin like all the BIG DOGS on the board but I am hear a lot. Ive logged a lot of hours on the board and posted where I though my ideas might be put to good use and thats about it. I read most of the post, laugh my butt of on sum, almost cry over others.

If you feel that Im not the person for the job, no problem. I was just tryin to help out with the headach. I already have an account set up with paypal and my bank for everything. I would be willing to keep up a spreedsheet and also let people see a copy of my account statement and post up Paypay print offs also.

Just trying to help out a bit.

Let me know what everybody thinks.

Josh

Rev.........your a good man!!!!!!!!  thanks for not taking it the wrong way dude!
Oh Heck no, I say if Jester is up for it so be it. I do tend to equate post numbers with time spent on the board. Didn't realize that Jester was mostly hanging back watching the freak show. You gotta kinda respect someone who doesn't speak until he has something to say. :D Unlike myself who prattles on unendingly...

So yeah no sweat. If Jester wants the responsibility I say cool. Though I would still kinda like a two person system set up. On to do the dirty work, one to provide oversite...Just to catch mistakes if nothing else. Will be a lot harder for anyone to complain or point fingers anywhere if there is allready a check system in place... Just a thought...

Rev.

I just had a thought, I know I don't have the money to donate but I do have the time. I'm offering free bike-sitting for the capt anytime he's not using her. I'll take good care of her :).

I have been here quite a while but to be honest I dont have the time etc to get that involved. I am going to make atleast a small donation to whomever you all decide to handle the money part 25-30 bucks maybe more. Someone back in this huge post asked who we would recommend to keep track of everything. I can say I have met and road with Ninja he is a great guy and in the short time I hung out with him seemed like the perfect guy for the job. Nothing against any of you but I actually met him and hung out with him while he was getting his turbo worked on up here in Maine. I notice though he is alittle reluctant to take on this duty maybe he does not want to be responsible for it. If he is I wold recommend him if he is not I will still send the cash to whoever you decide to collect. All I want out of this deal is a ride with Cap on his new Busa :)

I already sent mine in with no questions asked. Cap has been very generous to us all. I don't post as much as you guys but I am still on the team.

Lets get together and meet at Caps when his Busa is delivered!!!!!!!! :beerchug:  :beerchug:  Too bad they don't offer the all black SE anymore. :D

Oh and I almost forgot. We should get a little airbrsuh on it. "Captain" what do you guys think?:super:?:super:

well it took me about forever to read the whole thread, but i'm in for 25-50 bucks (depends on when we actually get around to sending it to someone) so whenever you guys get it all sorted out and decide who is going to collect email me ( work is killing me and i dont get much time on the boards lately) and i will gladly put a check in the mail, for the captain rocks!!!

I'm in.

My 2c:
It IS important to have someone we trust handling our money.  Nothing against Babuski or Ninja but I trust Jester implicitly.  I would trust him with MY money.

Cap needs to pick a color.  Jester could have the money, give it to Cap since they're close geographically, and Cap would buy the bike, and there's no gift tax since Cap would be buying the bike.  Would that work?

Motion seconded....

I was telling my dad about this tonight and he had a decent idea. There is some concern about trust and I can't blame anyone for that. Here is his idea. We talk to Captain and find out what is his favorite shop. After that we contact the sales manager and see if he will help us in our quest. See if he'll help by setting up some kind of lay away account or something like that so we could send the money straight to them. Who knows maybe he'll even be willing to make us a good deal because of our efforts to get Captain a new ride.

Just a thought.
