Down at Barber...twice

So at my first track day ever, I took the 08 and things were going ok at first. In my second session the front end washed out in a slow speed left-hander (turn 5). I lowsided and slid, scratching the beast all up. I got up and was able to finish the session. In session six, well after I'm loosened up and riding like a champ, the front end washes out while I'm dragging a knee in a hard and fast right-hander, up the hill to the bridge. I was doing 60+ I think, when it gave way. This time it smashed all the plastics. I was able to ride it off the track but that was it for my day of riding. Ugh. Bad tire (stock tire but brand new) or high psi is to blame. I'm fine, no injury, but now I've got to replace ALL the plastics and NEVER take the busa on the track again. I need a track bike! :D Ok, really, I need to piece this bike back together. I will be buying every peice of plastic to replace the broken stuff so if anybody knows where I can get a good deal, I'm going to put it back to stock and make a tourer.

Here's a pic of when things were going well. ;)

barber motorsports track and museum are both awesome!! Been there twice, once to the AMA supersport races with my then financee.

We went through the museum, but I have never been on a road track. I think I would want a 600 to start out on for track duty. sorry you broke up your baby.

My friend sorry about the bike and I'm glad you are ok. I guess now it is time to get a custom paint job... Don't worry about the plastics there isn't anything duck tape can't fix lol...

glad to hear you were able to get up and walk away...parts can always be replaced :beerchug:

Like you said, it probably was too high tire pressure. Plenty of K8's are running the stock 015 to it's limits and finding it a very competent tire even when pushed hard. Sorry for your loss. I'd be beside myself. Get her fixed and like new again.:cheerleader:

Glad you walked away. (Glad it wasnt me.) You probably saved me some grief. Guess I'll look for a track bike too.
