I feel that first off EBC and XXX should be given a chance to make it right before all of the good folks here at the Org. offer up their $$ and parts. I know EBC is not directly to blame for any of this as they were trying to do good for a member.
I feel it would be in best interest of XXX customer service / EBC membership and sponsorship for these 2 establishments to work it out with SAMBUSA. If it was me...I would be asking for a set of plastics to replace the set ruined by this offer...not necessary new, but in as goood as condition.
...flame if you must.
When we found out Sam hadn't gotten his Busa back, and XXX wasn't returning his phone calls/emails, I emailed and called XXX that same night. The next morning XXX responded to both Sam and I giving Sam a completion date of March 1st... although the email response didn't leave Sam and I feeling as though the date was set in stone. I emailed, PM'd and called XXX for the next 5 days asking them to nail down that completion date... they never responded. Then they contacted Sam and changed the date, and then changed the date again, and then there was a blizzard, and then the owner was injured... the list goes on and on.
All this time XXX remained a sponsor at EBC. The ONLY reason - and I explained this to Sam while it was happening - was they still had his Busa, and as minimal as the communications between XXX and EBC was, we felt that we would have no leverage if we removed their sponsorship. But the moment Scott sent me a text message and told me he was driving down the street with Sam's Busa, we removed them as a sponsor.
XXX called me this morning when they got wind of this thread. Camesha of XXX asked me to be available for a phone meeting 7:30pm tonight. At 7:15 she called and rescheduled the meeting for 9pm. A few mins before 9 she sent me a text message saying she would be calling me later... and she never did.
I've discussed this with Sam a few times today on the phone, and I'm hoping I can come to an arrangement with XXX for them to reimburse Sam for the damages done to his Busa.
