I feel that first off EBC and XXX should be given a chance to make it right before all of the good folks here at the Org. offer up their $$ and parts. I know EBC is not directly to blame for any of this as they were trying to do good for a member.

I feel it would be in best interest of XXX customer service / EBC membership and sponsorship for these 2 establishments to work it out with SAMBUSA. If it was me...I would be asking for a set of plastics to replace the set ruined by this offer...not necessary new, but in as goood as condition.

...flame if you must.

When we found out Sam hadn't gotten his Busa back, and XXX wasn't returning his phone calls/emails, I emailed and called XXX that same night. The next morning XXX responded to both Sam and I giving Sam a completion date of March 1st... although the email response didn't leave Sam and I feeling as though the date was set in stone. I emailed, PM'd and called XXX for the next 5 days asking them to nail down that completion date... they never responded. Then they contacted Sam and changed the date, and then changed the date again, and then there was a blizzard, and then the owner was injured... the list goes on and on.

All this time XXX remained a sponsor at EBC. The ONLY reason - and I explained this to Sam while it was happening - was they still had his Busa, and as minimal as the communications between XXX and EBC was, we felt that we would have no leverage if we removed their sponsorship. But the moment Scott sent me a text message and told me he was driving down the street with Sam's Busa, we removed them as a sponsor.

XXX called me this morning when they got wind of this thread. Camesha of XXX asked me to be available for a phone meeting 7:30pm tonight. At 7:15 she called and rescheduled the meeting for 9pm. A few mins before 9 she sent me a text message saying she would be calling me later... and she never did.

I've discussed this with Sam a few times today on the phone, and I'm hoping I can come to an arrangement with XXX for them to reimburse Sam for the damages done to his Busa.

Sorry I was MIA for a little bit. Had to work and all that. Calmed down somewhat since yesterday morning. So first, sorry for all the foul language I had in my first post. Was livid but still unacceptable. Second, I agree with the previous couple of posts about letting the parties involved get this settled. BigGeorge and EBC has, in my opinion, been very helpful. George has been working on getting this resolved from the begining and I am very appreciative of that. I've been in contact w/ him several times every day via email, phone or text messages. Now its up for XXX to man up and do what's right. I am doubtful that they will do anything judging from my impression of them. Sending the plastics back to them to rechrome it is not an option. They will not have my bike/plastics for another six months just to screw it up again.

I didn't start this thread to be a charity case. I started it so others could be warned. I'm glad that it is me and my ride and not someone elses. I'm glad that I can be used as an example for others so they dont get treated the same way. I DO NOT want handouts. There are members here who need help that are waaaaay more deserving than I am. Dont get me wrong, I teared up reading the offers. And I'm not an emotional person, haven't teared up since I was a kid. The generosity here is simply amazing, but we all know that. If you want to help a member out, please help someone like Ken02busa. His situation is far worse than mine. LINKY

Sam and Kyle, I really appreciate the offers but lets see how this pans out.

I sure hope they step up to the plate to make it right. I can not understand why any shop would ever put out anything but the best quality work they are capable of doing. You are usually judged by the worst job you ever did regardless of the industry. It does not make a difference whether it is paint and body, home building, machinist, chrome plating, engine building. If a business owner can not QA everything and get it right before it goes out the door, get out of the business now. It is one thing to have a hidden defect show up down the road. Take care of it and all is good. But to allow something like this, shows the integrity of the people you are dealing with.

XXX you've got the chance to make this right but it is going to take some dollars to do it. If I were in your position I'd be looking where I could come up with the money to make him a very generous offer on buying the bike from him. Taking out a loan, selling my toys, whatever it takes to make Sam say you made it right.
