drag strip videos

I posted that video when it was like 10 minutes old in the gen 3 forum today but good to see a gen 3 drag thread lol

Fun video for stirring interest, but I'm not sure it proves much. I'm sure the Gen3 has better launch tools. The times are pretty good for stock if they aren't using front straps, but it will be interesting to see what can be done with a rider known for being good with a hand clutch on a drag strip.

maurice allen is a pro stock mc drag racer. im sure he knows how to use a hand clutch. i do agree the 3rd gen has more rider aids in launching which can be advantageous on a drag strip

Pretty sure Pro Stock uses sliders and wheelie bars. Whole different animal than SWB true hand clutch street bike. He probably cut his teeth on hand clutch but I can tell you the muscle memory fades if you don't keep doing it. A guy like Ricky Gadson would really give us an idea what the bikes can do.

Sometimes I just think they don't want to show it
What, the ZX-14R?

Sooner or later we'll see it and the busa better win!

Would have been nice if they showed the ETs....
How about if they just showed a good race? It looks like the he Gen3 missed second gear, did a huge wheelie and lost to the Gen2.

As far as the video in the OP, the Gen3 was .1 second faster. I'd expect that from what we already know. Now I want to see what will happen way up on the tippy-top end.

if u remember, mr kawaski gasden was hitting mids 10s on a busa. what he can do vs what he will do will probably be much different. drag racing is still drag racing, pro stock guys just took it to the next level. he still knows the tree and pros know how to make adjustments based on what a machine or track is giving them. you are right, skills do fade but doesn’t mean they can’t come back quickly.

Goodluck on finding a busa right now that hasn't been beat to dog crap and mileage out of this world for 4k get one and if your ever in central florida hit me up in a few months we will put that theory to test...

Found a few of them. I'm not in the market for another bike at this time. My gen2 just sits as it is. I've put about 4 miles on it in the last year and a half lol
