EV vehicles

Ugly is ugly and that cyber truck is just that. The BKing exhaust was beyond hideous even though the rest of the platform was decent.

Change is one thing, complete change is another
Red was right. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

I think it looks cool, simply because it is different and the lines flow. Look at modern furniture, kitchen cabinets, interior doors, everything today is clean and square. Some folks even replace the old pretty molded doors with Shaker. Some folks will have exotic beautiful woods repainted white.

You remind me of when I was an apprentice with Mercedes, decades ago. The journeyman training me got into a discussion about women personalities. I commented that dating a fat girl is like riding a scooter, it's a lot of fun, but you don't want your buddies to see you with one. Couple of days later I met his wife and she was like 300lbs. Never made that mistake again.

If you want to go down a huge rabbit hole, google “Is attractiveness subjective?”
After much reading the answer I got was generally not, but it can be, therefore it is.

Seems like attractiveness and subjective go together. In my case that would refer to a woman.
Here's my literal side again. The definition is The quality of being pleasing or appealing to the senses. That applies to my SL and Tuono.
A Cybertruck? Maybe to your son. I like that it's different, no question of what make it is when you see one.

Tesla is the most valuable car company on the planet and the most valuable EV maker. When it stubs its toe, other EV companies feel it.

This is a quote from a Barrons article a couple of months back. It's the sort of fluff they toss out to try and explain market moves but of course it has little basis in reality. It reminds me of similar comments about the crypto complex, that they all fall or rise, which they do, when Bitcoin moves because Bitcoin is the biggest. It's non-nonsensical, but then the whole crypto scene is nonsensical. Car manufacture and sales is an entirely different matter and I see no reason why All EV makes should be effected just because the big one is suffering slumping sales.

Car companies rise and fall, come and go, but they don't move in lockstep with each other. Cars are always in demand and, short and a depression, if new car sales slump, then used car prices rise, as we saw over the past few years. For new car sales to fall and used prices also, well that's unheard of, except in the EV markets. Rivian is keeping it's head above water so far but God help the owners of it's cars if it goes under like Fisker. No warranties then, no updates or spare parts either, they'll be on their own.

It's a factor many potential buyers are taking into consideration.

I can only speak on my own personal opinion of course. What one person finds attractive, another doesn’t. In this context, I find both the cyber truck and factory BKing exhaust hideous

I will credit Musk for bringing about change. It has sort of forced what is already working, to be refined and be more efficient. Of note is their approach that this vehicle is readily able to run on various fuels. Including hydrogen.

Here is Kenworth's approach to the OTR heavy hauling space.

Thanks Elon.

Thanks Elon ?!?! LOL Supertruck builds have been around since before 2014....... Kenworth looks cool but Damiler/Freighliner and Volvo are winning in the efficiency department.

Keep watching this space... There is some exciting things on the horizion. EV's are getting better by the second.

And I applaud every example of bringing the Class 8 space into a better performing space. I won't miss the smoke belching rolling bricks that were the norm.

Which can continue to deliver, while we await practical alternatives that may be adopted someday.

To me the nicest looking truck is the new Tundra, but they are blowing turbos and motors and a host of other issues.

Second would be the new GMC.
I personally like the look of the Ram TRX over most trucks but the price of them are crazy,

The new Tundras are nice and I saw a new blood red Silverado rough country yesterday that was very nice, I’m not a GM fan but that truck could sway me

I did your Google.

Interesting, I read a good article about Google censorship today, I sought it out after trying to search "Hyperloop Dismantled" Another one of Elon's pipe dreams lol. Anyway Google says "not many hit" and basically no valid links. I went across to bing and found tons of links. Rechecking just now, from a different IP on my VPN Google finds lots of links? Very strange... I had closed and reopened my browser in this process so any cookies were cleared, Reddit ones mainly. Some strange stuff happens on the web these days.

I found another interesting story about Ghost Jobs. Apparently many jobs listed now don't even exist! It's some corporate trick to make out like they are growing and doing well. It's happening all over the world. If they had to pay for advertising in news papers like in the old days I doubt this would be happening. Makes me wonder how many revealing EV stories are being buried by the search engine? F*ck the internet!

The posted roles are more than just a talent vacuum sucking up resumes from applicants. They are also a tool for shaping perception inside and outside of the company. More than 40% of hiring managers said they list jobs they aren't actively trying to fill to give the impression that the company is growing. A similar share said the job listings are made to motivate employees, while 34% said the jobs are posted to placate overworked staff who may be hoping for additional help to be brought on.

More and more of this sort of thing is happening with EV....spontaneous combustion after a collision.....sometimes on the back of a flatbed when it's being hauled away from a crash site.....some places have an SOP where a fire truck has to follow the flat-bedded EV to it's destination.

Come on Bee. You know EVs don't have a fire issue. They proved it with a link here.

Damn it Jelly factual links are so annoying when someone is trying to hate on EVs.
3,475 fires per 100,000 sold compared to 25.
Ouch
LOL, don't know if you remembered the first SamSung phones which caught fire. Good thing is people learn from their mistakes, that is unheard of today.

The new Tesla batteries have compartmentalized the cells, so if a cell fails it is contained in in a small area. I think EV's will continue dying in terms of sales, until the solid state battery hits the road.
