F150 truck tries to run biker off the road, then chases biker!

I'd like to see him try that on a certain.Org member from Florida...

If it had been me and he got out of the truck with tire iron in hand I would have walked right up to him and gave him a kiss on his rosy red cheek! If anyone wants to act out what I've said online I think it would be ok and not lead to any legal proceedings against them :)
Have a nice day everybody.

This is a great post from zx10 forum thread and I couldn't say it any better myself...
Before anybody tries to contact chain of command or the FBI let's all put on our lawyer hats and review the video:

Motorcycle #1 does illegal high speed pass over double yellow lines.

Psycho cast member from Hills Have Eyes tries to kill him with truck.

Motorcycle #1, psycho, and Motorcycle #2 go on a high speed run through a populated area.

So all 3 were breaking the law. Deliverance Driver could argue that he was being chased by motorcycle#2 and was fearing retaliation for almost killing motorcycle#1.

Motorcycle #1 had multiple opportunities to leave (when the smaller vehicle slowed things up for one). And motorcycle #2 could have just stopped at any point.

What was the real purpose of following and antagonizing Pork Chop? If the plan was to:

Beat his ass: Stupid and illegal.

Have a counseling session: Ridiculous, everybody is too amped up

Call the cops: Pointless, everybody was breaking the law

I'm not trying to justify Big Country's actions, just looking at things through a more objective perspective.

My advice for you is to leave it alone, do not present your self incriminating evidence to any authority, and start hitting some track days with the money you decided not to donate to the court system.

For the gentlemen convinced that a gun would have been great, this is not Hollywood, people die and go to jail in real life.

I have an M9 on my hip 24/7 here and carry my Ruger .380 or S&W9mm everyday when I'm back home. I do this legally and responsibly.

Remember, a gun is justified to protect you and your family from certain harm, to be drawn with the only purpose of taking a life. That is a huge responsibility that should not be confused with a way to "teach somebody a lesson" or to account for one's own insecurities. Try using logic and rhetoric to solve arguments; it works for most adults, otherwise walk away.

Good point. I carry 24/7. I also know the ramafications and responsibility. In this situation... Get on your bike and drive away!!! This is a " no brainer ".

Stopping on side of road would have encouraged confrontation instead of discouraging it.
Had one of the riders possessed a gun and used it he most suredly would have gone to jail.

Agreed! Blanca you always have a good head on your shoulders about this. Having personally shot and killed people in self defense before it pisses me off when these pansies say "oh I would have shot him" "this is why I pack heat" blah blah blah. Don't brag about it, do it, then be thankful that you had it when you needed it. All three riders/driver were stupid and this video is 100% what I see in real life, people being all about it but never doing ish! I bet these riders are some of the "internet tough guys" too lol

Not always. I lost my head once recently and gained much knowledge from the posts that resulted and from the exp itself.Road Rage never justifies anything and always results in bad things. Scream, yell, flip fingers at each other ok all fine but when you stop and jump out bad things are gonna happen and both parties are instantly at fault.
My situation was similar but ended much quicker.

Just let it go.

A slower pass and a friendly "thank you" wave from the rider might have prevented it all....

I disagree, I'm not condoning the actions of either driver, but the F150 driver was hellbent on revenge....whatever his reasons. then the actions of both parties escalated it.

I have to retract some of that (after I watched the video); the rider never got a chance for a wave because the driver pretty much tried to run him off the road before he ever got a chance to.

Frankly, they all deserve some tickets. The riders for speeding and reckless driving; the redneck for the same PLUS reckless endangerment. The bike riders did not put the life of the truck driver in danger, but the truck driver definitely put the life of the front rider in danger. Billy Bob needed to calm himself down. When you carry a gun you have GOT to maintain some self-control.

Didn't a mod make a request not even 2 days ago about some of the comments from the org'sters

yes, i did

for those of you who haven't read it, here it is again for your convenience:

unacceptable threats on the board linky

i've cleaned the thread up to this point, please think twice before you type and don't make us have to moderate everything...we want to be able to let everyone have their say but threats of violence are not going to be tolerated...thanks for understanding :beerchug:

I watched this video with my wife. Right after I got the look,

" no honey i don't ride like that on the streets this is why I want race leathers and to get on the track to get that out of my system somewhere controlled."

She responded with "that's a Good idea and thanks for not doing that stuff and I see why you want a GoPro."

So thanks to the idiots in this video for helping me get race leather and a GoPro put into our budget, I just wish you hadn't done so in a way that put everyone else on the road at risk.

Keith your were right in your first post. The only reason rider did not get a chance for a wave is due to his speed approaching the truck. He tried to just fly by him. Had he slowed down and waited for a better time to pass than a turn maybe the truck driver would not have reacted like that. Slow down pull in behind him and then pass sanely not kneedraggin at 80.

Then I guess it's a bummer neither biker did display a gun.
Maybe you could have worked one of those into the budget as well.

'see honey a nice shiny one just like that'

Oh the gun is already there, she is wanting to get prepared for the zombie apocalypse and that means guns lol. I keep spending that money on my bike though :(.

Man oh man...I need a beer after that one! I was rippin' mad and it wasn't even me! I do agree that he probably shouldn't have passed on a double solid...cause none of us have done that before....

That reminds me of when I had to pass an old couple going excessively slow. They honked at me after I got by, but I don't think they realized they were going so slow, or that I passed them going under the speed limit. 20 under the limit is actually a ticketable thing in TX but nobody writes that ticket.
Skewed perceptions, revenge, and confrontation are not good bed fellows. I would have rode on and found some way to lose the guy, or if I was rider #2 I would have rode around the dude when they stopped, told my friend to get back on his bike and rode off.
I can get pretty hot too, but there are always consequences to confrontations like this. I'm just glad everybody kept their heads enough to eventually ride and drive away.

This is where it all began... the guy is the truck belongs in jail
ImageShack Links Do Not Work

Looking at that one frame you can really see how close the biker was to disaster! I can't even see any pavement to the left of him!

WOW. I don't want to come off as an antagonist, but if someone tries to run me off the road intentionally with 3 ton truck, then hops out with crowbar like he's going to do something and I have my helmet and all gear on still...SOMETHING IS GOING TO HAPPEN. I'm glad they made friends and decided to start talking on the phone.
I have buddies like that dude in the truck who think they are and do all kinds of bad @$$ things right up until the point of confrontation, and then suddenly find their limit. I can't say that I have that kind of limit once I've been pushed into the red, which coincidently, is the primary reason that I don't carry. The chance that the other party is, is usually the reason I find myself trying to avoid these situations at all costs. What's unfortunate is that I see many of those that do carry acting similar to the guy in the truck. It's almost like that license to carry makes people feel the need to intervene in situations that hardly affect them, and in some cases, escalate the situation since they have a weapon on their side. Dude in the truck was looking for a reason to act like a bad @$$, except when it came down to it, he didn't. Whether that's cooler heads prevailing...I don't know.
