Fast acceleration and a ticket...?

To be honest with you, I've never written a motorcyclist, though I've stopped hundreds over the years. It would be so easy to run from us and usually get away. You are showing me respect when you stop. I always ask the biker to chill out and they usually comply in an equally respectful manner.

Fall Bash, passed State officer in NC on the right at over 130 mph was followed for four miles, saw him back there, no ticket just a "PLEASE SLOW DOWN, lotsa deer around here..." he let me walk to the amazement of everyone there :cheerleader:

have had the unfortunate pleasure of a few road side talks with some local police and even one state cop in NC. Walked away from each one with a "be careful" and a few choice laughs. Each time the cop seemed amazed at whatever it was I was doing and of course the fact that not only did I stop, but a few times I was waiting for them to catch up

I had one when I was in my truck, damn near wreck his cruiser trying to turn around to get me for 10 over 55 in a 45 coming out of a small town. Normally I am just as nice as I can be if I have to speak with a LEO on his terms. This guy, I parked in the biggest mud puddle I could find. I knew I was getting a ticket and I also knew the water was over the top of his boots  Was on the phone with the attorny as the cop was writing the ticket.

Now adays, when I'm riding I'm almost always with Charlie (PDBusa), so I worry a LOT less about getting pulled over

Only been popped in a cage thus far. I behave, most of the time, on two wheels but I supposed the track gets rid of most of my speed aggressions.

you leave out very big part of story big fat liar....

We were doing about 130 riding WITH the LEO.. you accelerated to about 163 after you got around him.. Or I could get verification from Mike or the GPS... (or the troopers gun at 160? )

Here in Texas if you are caught and charged with reckless driving you do not pass go and you go directly to Jail and then have to pay out the ARSE. Not to mention they treat your bike like crap while taking it to the impound lot.

I think it's more of a sustained high speed that really gets you into trouble. A quick burst usually won't warrant a massive ticket, unless your in the middle of town or in traffic.

In CT over 80mph and they are not aloud to chase you anymore. I believe this is due to the possiblity of an accident. Who knows if they even follow that rule. If i was a cop i sure wouldnt...

I like most Busa owners would never exceed the posted speed limit! Thats my story and im sticking to it!

All I know is that in South Carolina if your >25mph over the posted limit you go directly to jail no matter what.

Nah man, I've written three six point tickets for speeding recently. I'm not into taking peeps to jail.

But it is considered reckless driving and you can be arrested

You're lucky. Eased up on an unmarked suburban near Asheville. Recognized it from behind stayed behind it, and after about 1/2 mile he hit his lights. Thought I was doing 70 in 65. He wrote me 70 in 55. 4 points close to $200.

I got popped doing 87 in a 45 and coulda been charged with reckless, but the cop gave me a break and wrote me for 5 over. he liked my '94 GSX750R.
but i have some family that are cops and NEVER heard of any1 going to jail in MI. for speeding unless you tacked up a fleeing and eluding.

barney fife or however its spelled got me 61 in 55.... didnt even think he was pulling me over... came up you know how dangerous these things are you need to watch your speed... i couldnt believe it it still miffs me but i guess i rather have that ticket than the other times i was riding like a fool without any respect for my own life or others:rulez:

I got a 76 in a 40 which is nothing huge, but was a state trooper....said since I pulled over right away and was respectful he'd let me drop it to a 29 over to avoid a suspension and 5 pts instead of 6. Still crappy, but at least he did that for me, do the crime do the time.

I was waiting for the handcuffs...

He kept pace with us for a while and did mention besides excessive speed we were being responsible and not screwin around. He said he knew I could outrun him and was hoping when I saw the blues I'd stop and I did, he said he followed for four miles, thats less than two minutes and a good chunk was time to slow down and crap myself :banghead:

I didn't mouth off or say anything stupid or try to justify what I was doing, I was busted and I knew it. He said "Do you know why I pulled you over?" I said "uummmmmm speeding?" he laughed and said YES do you know the other 3 guys and I said no we just kinda wound up in a group and were playing around...
