Dave you will find yourself doing 150 mph blast before you know it. The speed of this bike is such an addiction. Way to get to know it before pushing it.

yeah yeah yeah i know this is slow for you all.

i've never been up to 100mph. went up to 90 on the harley but that was it. maaannnnn the busa is rock solid and smooooooth.... hit the mark then just coasted down to speed. did it on a road that has no side streets, no driveways, and no oncoming traffic for safety.

ever see that comercial about identity theft with the two old ladies talkin' about motorcycles? "them bikes was fast, tell you what...shoot"
Long island has roads like that

once you get a taste of triple digits you cant stop..

there is a ten mile stretch on long island ! on a good weekend you will see a couple dozen exotic cars , and dozens of bikes alon this stretch ! they aint there to go slow ! its straight , wide open with water on bolth sides ! then another place which is nice has fields on bolth sides , just have to watch out for the giant lobster ! and a few other roads that are good for running ! what long island needs is a drag strip, track, and some more dam twisties !

before you go any further , think about changing the pads to ebc hh , it will tripple your braking power , the stock pads suck and i can remeber a few times when i needed some more bite !

i will get with you on the plastics , but my job is hectic right now workin some serious hours , triin to steal sleep in between! still waitin on wheels and undertail before i swap everything out.

I need to go that way ASAP. I did a panic stop from 110 yesterday and was glad I had a bit of extra asphalt...

charles was runnin a deal on them like 25 dollars or somthin? i got robbed at the dealer but still not too bad like 38 dollars

THE GOOD: Way to go! New milestone in your life. Sounds like you felt pretty good about it!

THE BAD: busa only doing REAL 91 when speedo hits 100
biggrin.gif

THE UGLY: ADDICTION! You really can get used to, or NUMB to high speed. 100 [strait up on the dial] is my FAVORITE normal cruising speed - though I rarely find the wide empty spaces to do it

These bikes are different for everyone. Use it however YOU feel like it.

what is the actual speed when doing 70?
I'd guess about 63ish. I GPSd my stock bike and it's roughly 5 off down low [40 = 35], 10 off in the medium range [110 = 100] and 15 or more off up high - 186 = 171ish

so, appropriately I do 10 over for 5 REAL over down low, 15 over for 6ish over in the medium, and up high I hand over the license and lie on my stomach with hands behind back

I am curious how smokinGunz has almost a thousand posts and hasnt hit 100 on a busa till now.

Be careful smokingunz. If you do happen to hit 150, do NOT, sit straight up...or you may watch your busa ride off without you.

However, I dont think you needed a full tuck at 100, - I have ridden sitting straight up at 100 with no hands just to watch how perfectly the bike tracks.
I noticed with a double bubble, it is alot easier to sit in a up position at 80 to 100. I am thinking about getting a touring, does anyone have any input about sitting position and speeds with one?
I have the double bubble right now from puig.

I am satisfied with it as it looks the right size. However, I bought my bike with the ZG Sport Touring installed, and I remember absolutely loving the wind protection from that screen.

I replaced it with the current DB because the corner of the Touring had broken where it mounts, - and I thought the DB would be good enough for the wind, and I didnt want to see a big tall screen like the ST anymore.

Well, at this point, I must say the Sport Touring screen is really worth having over the Double bubble.

If I replace the screen again, I will, indeed go with a Sport Touring.

However, the DB looks a lot better on the bike.

Here is a pic of my bike when I first got it... It has the Sport Touring screen, - note how tall it is.

I wish it didn't look so big. But it is definitely worth having.

I have had my Ultra classic geezer glide up to 115 mph several times. Once I dropped over a hill wide open and broke the antennas off the trunk.
Now for the Busa it blows me away how at 115 in third and 3 more to go.

If we are not going 100 when it says we are how do we fix the speedo? I have only rode my bike 3 times since getting it and the first time I was going 60(as posted speed) and some caged bird was 15 feet off my rear.
