First Time Rider: First Bike Busa

just the fact that your not clear on what I meant by you being a "non-rider" further proves that your a non-rider.. which is no big deal really..

I was just saying that your talking about things that you don't understand.

Like you mentioning that you like the way the busa looks, and feels.

The looks yeah.. you can rail about that all ya want.. but uh.. what are you comparing the feel too?

The busa feels heavy, low, and wide compared to every other sport bike I've ridden.

just for the record.. i rarely do anything stupider than playing in the twisties somewhat.  (twisties in rider speak mean curvy mountain roads BTW)

I rarely wheelie, never stunt, and I have wear more gear than most...

thats what ya need for sure.. good spine protector, boots, gloves, full leathers.. gooooood helmet.

Cuz it's probably gonna be a bumpy ride.
Speaking of gear ....were did you get yours? Does it have hayabusa all over it?

Spoken like a true poser! Anyway as your local dealer, they can get a whole line of hayabusa gear (helmet and jacket at least). I would suggest getting a shoei RF1000 , it looks good and in my opinion is one of the best out there. Also check ebay for some good deals.

I'm 40 years old, I've been riding bikes since I was 5, I've been riding big road bikes since I was 17, (after spending a year on a 250, as is our lincensing system), let me assure you that nothing can prepare you for the sheer torque and speed of a Busa.  As these guys have been trying to tell you, you can get yourself into real trouble really quickly on something that has the speedo needle move in sync with the tacho, if not with the law, then with the traffic or even just on your own.  If you arent going to listen to anyone then spare a thought for your family, or for the Paramedics that have to hose you off the road.  It's idiots like you who give most of us a bad name, and unfortunately, they are all over the world.

I think you put alot of thought into your original post. I mean I don't think anyone has taken so many words to say "I'm getting a Busa for my 1st bike and I don't care what you say. What do you guys know anyway?"

But hey welcome to the board. Hope you can hold back your adrenaline.

I can't believe you called me an idiot. WOW!!!!

hehe, spoken like a true non-rider.

You may become a rider if you survive long enough, but I doubt it. Sound like a pure out poser, which is fine if thats what you wanna be. Just pointing out whatever everybody else is thinking and not saying because this is a friendly board.

That being said.. enjoy the new ride, and post some pics!
Non-Rider? What does that mean? Oh maybe it means in order to be labeled a rider you have to do stupid crap on your bike. Oh I get it now. People who obey the speed limit on their busa's are posers, and those who do 30 over the limit, and skip through traffic are the real Busa riders. You couldn't be serious. That's just ignorant. Before you posted that you should have said it out loud and just maybe you might have thought twice. In your case I hope I don't become a "RIDER". The DMV should read these boards and find out who some of these people are, and take their license.
Actually all it means is you are a non-rider until you gt on the bike.

Welcome stay safe, glad to hear you are taking training courses.

I don't think that College basketball is going to help to know how to handle a bike. The only thing that will help you to know what and what not to do is experience on a bike. Whether it's a busa or something else doesn't matter other than the fact that a lighter bike is easier to pick up if it starts to go down and less likely to send you off into oncoming traffic if you give it just a little too much throttle. Once you get this bike, I would suggest getting out to where nobody else is and practice starting, stopping, turns from a stop and all the stuff you'll be doing while riding. Or if you're a poser, (and I'm not assuming you are) you can just practice putting it on and off a trailer.

I found a spot in Milton, MA. called the Blue Hills about 15 minutes from my house that's were i'm going to practice for the whole summer. The next summer 2006 i'll put her in the city. Don't want to be the same guy writing on this board from the hospital cause i'm all banged up because I didn't want to do what it takes to learn the bike first.
much better areas then Blue hills. Look for a less populated area.

Some yes but not a lot when you consider the general population of the boards.

Thanks. my course is May 14,15.  The bike will be here before my course probably so i'm having my dad pick up the bike.  I don't care about him driving it first, I get to drive his 2005 Porsche Carrera 4S Cabriolet back!!!! WOW

What can I say?
Welcome, be safe and give her all the respect you can!

Speaking of gear ....were did you get yours? Does it have hayabusa all over it?
I use a HJC jacket/pant zip together 2 peice. Icon spine protector, and held gloves.. that stuff came from newenough.com good place to buy from.. good prices, and they will take care of you.. nope.. no hayabusa stuff on there.

My current helmet is a shoei rf900 chimera.. it's got a dragon lookin' thing on it. I picked it up from helmetcity.com I believe.

my bike actually doesn't say hayabusa on it anywhere.. doesn't even have the kanji stuff on the sides anymore.

the gsx1300r sticker on the rear is the only thing that gives its size away to anybody that doesn't already know..

I do have a hayabusa.org sticker on the back window of the tahoe, and I have 3 tshirts and 2 hats though.

if you wish i could get me some pics of my stylin' self all geared up.
