For those of you who pray...

I guess I was wrong about Kristen's numbers 2 days ago. She was up tp 160k, not 150k (better than I thought). Yesterday, Kristen slipped a little to 143k. Still, the doctors say that if she maintains her current level or improves today, they'll take her off the plasma exchange for a day and see how she does.

We're getting very close now. Thanks again everyone!
Keep the good news coming man. And keep sending her our well wishes and prayers.

She's still on the prayer list. Hopefully soon she'll be on the Praise / Thank You list

Touch & go, darn it! Today platelets were down to 103k. Kristen was bummed and understandably so. I just got back from the hospital. I was able to cheer her up by begging the shift doctor to let her leave the hospital for a couple of hours. We went to TGI Fridays and then drove around the campus of the University of Florida for a while. She wants to go finish up school there. All in all, it was a nice day. Her spirits were much better when I left.

Still need prayers for her improvement and strength of will. This disease has been so frustrating. Tomorrow will be her one-month anniversary in the hospital.

Thanks to all and take care.

I am glad you two got to go out for a little while. I say both of your spirits were better after that. She is still in my prayers.

Poor thing...

I know her patience is wearing thin with this. I know it stinks for her to have been couped up in the hospital this long.

I'm glad you talked the docs into lettin' you take her out for a while. That had to have been good for her spirits... and yours too I would imagine.

Does she have a favorite type of flower that she really likes? Maybe we could send her a little h.org "Get Well" arrangement. Something to brighten up that room a little?

I can't even count the times I think about you, her, and the rest of your family every day, bro. Wish there was more I/we could do for you.

Tell Kristen we are still thinking of her and praying for her every day. If there is anything we can do to help improve her spirits man, just let us know.

This is just a temporary set back. God's Thank You Inbox is full right now and he's gotta make room for the FLOOD when Kristen gets better so he's put her on a VERY temporary hold pattern while he makes room. All kidding aside, I honestly believe You'll see the count soar by weeks end.

Prayers are requests. Faith is believing the prayers have been answered. You'll see an improvement very soon.

Sorry to hear about the platelets, but its great to hear that Kristen and yourself got out and about for little while. Even though its just a name, a story, and common ground in this webpage be assured we are here for you and your family in prayers and good thoughts.

I'm still overwhelmed by the responses here. I'd like to thank you all personally, but I'd be spending all of my time doing so, there are so many. Thank you all!

No news today. Things are about the same. I did hook up with the network guru at the hospital today and it looks like Kristen may be able to get on the net tomorrow. They have to give her computer the "secret digital handshake" to connect. You would think that they'd just make it readily available. If more people in the hospital had more ways to keep themselves occupied, they'd heal faster!

Rant, rant rant....

How about a pic of the ceiling tile she painted... if she's done with it.

I'd like to see what she done on it.

My prayers are continuing. You did the best thing you could by raising her spirits. Whatever you need, please don't hesitate to ask.

Ok, here's the latest.

Kristen's climbing again. Today up to 133k. The doctors decided to skip the plasma exchange today and see how she does. First time in 30 days. She is still getting her chemo, however (it's been a weekly thing, very light dose).

I'm going up tomorrow and we'll get a pass from the doctors to leave the hospital for a couple of hours. Kristen has already determined the itinerary for her excursion and the first stop will be at a salon to get her hair trimmed. Beyond that, I will await her instructions.

She's keeping it together really well. I'm very proud of her. I know that your prayers are keeping her strong.

PS: She's now on-line. We were able to cut through the bureaucratic red tape and get her hooked up. It's kind of funny though, the wireless network that she connects to can't be accessed from her room, so she carries her laptop to the far opposite end of the hospital to go on-line. Gets her out of the room, though, and that's a good thing!

Pictures with the art-ceiling tile coming soon!

That sounds great! Keep her doing things and take her mind off this at least for a while. It's got to be tough, but hopefully she'll be home soon!

Great news, Bob!

We'll keep the prayers coming if you'll just keep the updates flowin'.

And since she has internet access and may read this...

Kristen,

You're one strong young lady! Keepin' it together for this long stuck in that hospital would be tough on any of us. Just remember, even though we don't always know the reasons, everything happens for a reason. We can't question it. We can only take the good with the bad and make the best of it.
wink.gif
And there's always a positive to most anything if you look hard enough for it. My guess is that after this you're going to have ol' Dad wrapped around your little finger. I'm pretty sure he's going to be spoiling you pretty good for a while. Just having you back at home will be the only reason he will need.
biggrin.gif

Just keep your chin up and keep the faith. And if you need anything, you know where to post up asking for it.

Woooooo hoooooo this are great news...

Hey Kristen!

Vanessa here in Kissimmee/Orlando...also very proud of how you are dealing with the situation, great to know you have high spirits and faith. It will all be done soon God willing. We've overstocked God's prayer lines to make sure He listens and takes action upon it! I wish you the best in everything and since I'm down the street, let me know if you need anything and I'll be there. I look forward of meeting such a strong woman whenever possible, maybe some of that strength can be transfered to me. You have an immediate family that loves you dearly, and now an extended family looking out for you...not counting the angels on your shoulders guiding you through.
smile.gif

May God keep on blessing you every single second that passes by, and giving your family the strength needed to help you get through this!

XOXO

Vanessa
