Frame Sliders

Just curious if there is anyone out there who has done this mod and then laid the bike down? Did you have to buy all the panels anyways? I want to do it, but it needs to make sense too. I just can not see the one slider protecting the whole panel. On my other bike the sliders where put on mainly to protect the engine covers and when the wife went down on it, thats about all they protected. Every part on the left side had to be replaced and she was only going about 20 mph.

Hi, everyone - newbie here.

I have the same dilemma - I know it's the right thing to do but I'm having trouble bringing myself to do it, I even have a pair of sliders(crash bungs over here) ready and waiting.

I found this link a while ago - I was certain it was on this site but I just can't find it again.

It's for bungs that require no drilling of fairing panels - they look the business but I was wondering if any of you have had any experience with them or know of someone who has.

I'd be grateful for any info

Cheers
Does anyone know of someone that has used these framesliders? I know they are on the expensive side, but if they work well & i don't have cut the fairing. It just might be worth it!

there are a couple board members that have them on here haven't heard much more i tried to order a set one time but they never answered my emails

I believe the support was support to come from a similar attachment on the other side of the bike, but I would agree it seems difficult. My fear of cutting the fairings was overcome by a low speed drop of the bike and realizing that I didn't want to pay for that damage anymore. I got to practice the cut on a used piece of plastic and realized that I could do it and then just did it.

Manatrader,
I bought my 03 AE busa about 6 months ago, it came with frame slides on it, and i'm glad it did. 3 days after i got it my brother talked me into letting him ride it up and down the road, when he was turning around he fell to the pavement, only damage was a broken clutch handle, and a few minor scratches on mirror housing. No damage to fairing at all. worked great at low speeds.

I installed mine and used the laser light method to mark the holes for drilling the panels....Worked most excellent..

Can someone please post a link to somewhere that sells the lightining performance sliders? Thanks
I've been looking myself and haven't found one. Places have it listed as an item, but nothing when you try to find the product. I'll keep checking and if I do will post up the link.

Or you can get these, like I did and not drill at all!!

"FAIRING PROTECTOR BOBBINS TO TO FIT SUZUKI GSX1300R .1999-2004- ONWARDS. A SOLID, ROBUST PRODUCT. FULLY MACHINED WITH A GREAT FINISH AND NO RAGED BURRS. THESE ARE SLIGHTLY LARGER THAN MANY OTHER SIMILAR PRODUCTS ON THE MARKET. FIX BY SIMPLY REPLACING THE ORIGINAL FAIRING BOLTS. "

No offence but hem bobbins are junk i had them on my bike and they did more damage then good and my bike just fell over cause i didn;t get it on the center stand right and there is no way they would hold up if you wrecked they'd break off and then you have to drill and tap the broken off bolt back outta your frame

I would have asked for the old panels to test out your cuts before you tried the new panels. but glad you got er done. that will be one of my first mods.

Sorry pop but i figured i'd let you know before something happened and they caused you more damage then good heard of one case when the broke off they actually broke part of the guys fairing also
