Frame up Build with mods and carbon fibre.

Finally got round to stripping out last of the loom this evening.
That small rats nest in second pic is the removed ABS section I now need to add this to my UK loom. I will also include some additional cabling for heated grips and sat nav, rather than use their original accessory crappy inline fuses I’ll add an additional Busa OEM fuse in the fuse box.

A few pics of how I produced the swing arm. Using high density foam board bonded to original frame and sanded into shape. Being fairly soft I applied a thin skim of filler to give some resistance when vacuum bagging. Black epoxy resin is brushed on and allowed to go tacky before applying the dry carbon fabric. I vacuum bagged it to consolidate the cloth and squeeze it tight into the frame. Brush on clear epoxy resin and flat back, several coats are applied until the carbon cloth is buried. Finally spray 2k gloss and flat back again then flow coat and polish.... very long winded!

Swing arm and rear shock now fitted so can get it off the trolley and onto Abba work stand, finally free to wheel it around the workshop.
I’m not to sure about the Vance & Hines downpipes that weld looks fuggly! Why would they do that?

That pipe looks to me like an add on by someone that has no clue lol
Bike is lookin great!
There are 3 others just the same!! Initial pipes coming from the head are standard diameter. Half way down they’ve welded in a wider flange and added a larger diameter pipe through to rear of system. I could clean the weld up but not really liking it

Can’t wait to get these on. An eBay find I picked up sometime ago. Brand new still boxed Dymag carbon rims, advertised as Hayabusa (but actually not). I decided to risk it and bought them. Front wheel fits perfectly axle spacing correct and discs line up. Rear didn’t fit axle a few mm out and disc hit the inside face of brake calliper carrier... bugger! I spoke to Dymag direct to see if they could solve the issue. These guys couldn’t be more helpful a truly amazing company. Tracing the serial number it turns out they made these wheels for a project by Hesketh motorcycles in the UK. Hesketh use the same axle and fork dimensions as a Hayabusa so should fit straight on. Dymag sent over their CAD drawings to check measurements. To solve the issue they Re-machined a pair of axle spacers 2mm added on sprocket side 2mm less brake side. Everything aligns perfect now, sprocket is also geared wrong at 49teeth. I spoke to Talon and ordered a 43teeth version, they’re having it re-anodised from gold to matching black

For sure. I rarely have had anybody do anything on my bikes.Have always done my own paint and fab work. Are the Brembo's going to get color?
Rubb.
I’m going to leave them as is, I think the colour is called ‘Titanium’ looks as though they’ve been anodised from the factory. I quite like them, subtle and different to the norm.
