Frank Adams 1430 update

frank, thanks again for you hard work and research. while i have no intentions of going to these extremes, i would be interested in larger fuel injectors and how they will affect performance. also, who makes them and what price and or other mods must be done to use them. any help is (as always) appreciated.

Thanks Frank,
Again thanks for the pic, I missed the Nitrous bottle holder the first time. I really like Terry's set-up.

Hey Frank. There's an old saying in the computer industry that applies to you.

"You can tell the pioneers by the arrows in their back".

Thanks for being so forthright on your experience. You have saved us all a lot of grief. It's unfortunate that BLackBus can't see that.

Your all welcome!

blackbus has a personal problem with me away from the computer.

he doesn't realise i know who he is...

and he probably has multiple screen names at this point.

but his "ripp & tear" antics are welcome with me...

Frank, why do you suppose that the clyinders were showing signs of being out of round? The heat? Not trying to second guess you but are you totally confident in the bore job you got? and the replating? Can steel sleeves be used or does anyone make a billet block yet? Did you use Wiseco pistons? KK

The "Carpenter guy" Frank mentions is Bob Carpenter of Carpenter Race Engines, and with his 2mm overbore kit he is using bigger valves. Bob uses stock exhaust and a Yosh box to remap, so yes, some tuning with a PC II and a pipe, you might beable to squeze some more hp out of it.
We should really see some big hp Busa's in the spring because its my understanding that 3 big name engine builders were given a pair of Busa motors each by Suzuki for R&D.
I talk to most of the bigger names in drag racing on a weekly basis, and being a Busa owner, I am always picking their brains on what they are doing. I am no mechanic, but if anyone ever has any questions I can probably point you in the right direction. Or if you need some gaskets, just give me a call.

Kong: the head is what makes the busa motor what it is. i'd like to think that these motors and something that kawasaki comes out with would make it to the Prostock ranks but i also have my doubts.
there is alot of technoligy in the Prostock motors.

my plans are to get this bike setup for the streetbike shootout class and run it in a few races.
i'd like to see this bike make it into the 7's under there rules.
but, that will take alot of time and work!
if i can't do it, i'd like to see someone with a Hayabusa make it.

these busa's have only been around for less than a year and there is alot of real good engine builders out there that haven't really came into play yet. wait untill they start devoting more of there time to these bikes, it's going to get very interesting!

You won`t see these engines in pro-stock for two reasons...the wieght break that NHRA gives for two valve per cylinder engines and the transmission . Another good reason would be that they now use huge aftermarket heads. Wronglane not trying to run you down but after rereading your post I see that you only want info but you will come to realize that charts and flow #`s are basically for the inexperienced person needing to be reassured that what they are about to buy or attempt is right. I am sorry if I offended you!

Frank I loved it when I saw your little squirming post on Dragbike.com. Awhile back.
You sounded like a little ***** that was going to get slapped. Then you come back here pretending. You don't even have a bike didn't your piece of **** Suzuki blow up. I knew you were a pretender when I first saw your posts in April with an AOL address and all the fuckin' dorky things you said .
Talk **** and I'll post your fuckin' stupid little apology. ***** .

BlackBus: We can't make everybody happy, can we?
read up through this post. It's all there!

Yes, I blew it up...You know that!

Ps...Sorry to hear about your other problems!

One quick addition, to explain my "attack" on Frank.

Frank isn't just here telling everyone how great he is he's all over the net. Over on drag bike he was actually calling Rickey G out to race his Super modified Hayabusa against a "stock" ZX12. Last time I heard Frank your bike didn't even run. So what's the race? If you can start your bike you win?

He touts himself as THE Hayabusa tuner and anyone else who is attempting to build a hopped up Busa is invading his territory. He gives his advise, he says derogatory things about other manufactures, riders and aftermarket products/suppliers. HE'S ONLY WRITING THE CHECKS. At the same time he's trying to sell others on this site one of "his" engines. What does that mean, I'd send you my engine for you to take to your builder and then you could add a few $$ to his bill for yourself? Don't confuse a guy with a credit card as a tuner/engine builder.

These big street racers who say my engine is this and my engine can do that, make laugh, most of them can't even change their own oil.

I don't want any extra respect, I don't want any admiration. I want you all to keep your eyes pealed for arm chair engine builders. A REAL tuner isn't gonna tell you all of his tricks or openly give you his advise, because contrary to what Pete believes, you COULD take that information and build your own bike to their specifications and they WOULD be out your business.

My advise to Frank is instead of bad mouthing these Carpenter engines, why don't you buy one and you and your engine builder can reverse engineer it to figure out what they are doing right and you are doing wrong?

i'd like to respond to all of this but i have one question...

Jamie: why do you want to hide behind a screen name?
i don't understand? maybe you think it will hurt your credibility.
well you know what? you have no credibility.
all the regular people that post & respond on this site have no problem giving out there email address or in some cases there name & where they live.

because of this Jamie, thats why most of what you have to say means nothing to me and probably most of the others. like i've said in a few responces back, i respect what you have to say, good or bad!

it doesn't matter to me if your my best friend messing around, i'd just like to see you come out of the closet and get on with it.

there is only one person that ever complained about my mispelling of anything.

and there is only two people i've ever know of to use the phase " Apple to Oranges".

you know when i see you speak of this and "volmetric efficiency" it's not very difficult to figure out who you are.

everybody knows who i am just like you do.
it doesn't matter to me what you think about me. it's that simple!

i'm not always right and if you or anyone else will show me that i'm wrong, i'll stand to be corrected.

bottom line is Jamie, i'm not any better than anyone else! not on here, dragbike.com, hayabusa on-line or anywhere else.

from where you are sitting, you have a personal problem with me and you always have had. in some dases you should have one but remember, if you really stop and think about it your the one that started it a rolling. mainly because of your personality.

just remember, i'm Frank Adams and all i'm going to tell you is things from my own experiences.
if you don't like what i have to say then don't read it!

it's this easy, it's either time to act like a man and be civil or craw back into your shell and be the real "pretender"

what's it going to be?(i hope you can be yourself)

........Frank

since you posted another responce while i was writing this one, one thing you need to understand...i never had any bad things to say about the "carpenter enginges". i just spoke of there success on what there already able to accomplish.
Jamie, it would probably be a good idea to read the entire post. that way your not going to make yourself look like an a-s-s so much.
read it all...just read it all........

I look at all this stuff as entertainment.

Frank posts a lot here. He seems to be genuinely interested in what he's doing. I've never seen him claim to do any of the work done by others. He always gives credit where due. In general, he does try to contribute. Weather he's right or wrong doesn't matter to me that much. I'm sure lots of the stuff I post may be wrong too. When it is, I LIKE to hear people comment on why. I'm sure frank is wrong sometimes. That's fine. He gets to see the responses, and maybe learn something too.

Jamie you do raise a good point about people blindly following what they read here. All post should be considered as the opinion of the author, and not the "be all, end all" truth.

Now then, with that being said. I'm the smartest guy in the world. (And I'm sure someone out there will correct that)

Jamie you're a cowardly intellectual bully.

Defaming and ridiculing people for their language skills, mechanical abilities, professionalism, enthusiasm for the forum, lack of knowledge in areas where you may have special understanding, and humorlessly positioning yourself as being superior to everyone around you and then running away to hide behind a screen is the kind of behavior that makes people hate you.

What is your name? Where do you live? What's your phone number? What's your riding skill level? What have you accomplished on the track with the tuning skills you profess to have? Post a picture of yourself so we can see you.

Why are you afraid of exposing yourself?

Because you're a friendless intellectual coward who uses your puffed up brain to hammer others in order to shore up your lost ego, that's why.

And because you're afraid that if you publish information about yourself, someone you've offended on this or another forum might just come over to have a look at your face.

One thing I will add to this is I have in another post told what I thought about SBM...I bought a set of amal carbs straight off of one of Carpenters prostocks around 1978 at ATCO. I based a lot of what I`ve said from that experience...never seen such a cobbled up mess inside a carb in my life but hey it worked but its not my nature to half a-s-s something. Sbm screwed two of my friends royally . Orient Express has screwed anyone that ever ran a 3-speed tranny period. I did not talk out the side of my mouth ..I have personal experiences to back what I say. Hope no one takes this the wrong way but I`m just one opinion of many and I respect what anyone has to say and it is up to each person to believe what is posted...some things I do believe and some I don`t. Keep posting I enjoy everyones thoughts and experiences. No one person can know it all.

Frank, I am actually sitting here laughing out loud. You are nuts. Why don't you come out and say who you "think" I am? You seem to have everything "figured out." How about if you drop some balls and call me by name. I don't friggin' know you, we've never met, I bet we've never even been in the same place at the same time. Your problem is you are paranoid. Everything is a conspiracy with you. If anyone questions you, or bad mouths you it's all the same person using different screen names, right? It couldn't be that a lot of people recognize you for what you are? Get yourself some professional help, seriously, you need it. I've put my name here it's Jamie. I've put where I'm from Pennsylvania, between York and Harrisburg. I work in Mechanicsburg. I've tried to hook up with Lyle because he's from Camp Hill but I guess he's not into it. I've put my phone number on here. I'm not gonna put my last name on here. My last name is unique. There's only about five people in the current United States phone book that even have my last name. Since you know what state I'm from and about what town it wouldn't be too hard for you to figure out my address and I don't need any late night home invasions or wake up to find my stuff vandalized or missing. You remember where I'm from you wanted me to travel all the way to Oklahoma to race your wonderful bike. Halfway across the country to race a bike that doesn't run. I don't have a problem with you, I have a problem with your advise. What experience do you have? I had my engine builder build me this or that and it broke, you want him to build you one too?

Don't even give me that, "I misspelled it" crap. You write Electrons everywhere you go. If you hadn't posted pictures of your bike, I'd have bet you were another one of Fakercop161's screen names.

Volumetric Efficiency!! Yeah, I never hear you talk about it because you probably don't understand it. You're like the guys at work who go on about the old days when cars were real and didn't have fuel injection. Your lack of knowledge but abundance of self promotion makes me sick. I've held my tongue as long as I can. These guys revere you as a hero and you're an idiot. Ideal power isn't always made with the biggest set of carbs or the most expensive part in the catalogue.

Lastly Frank, I've been following your posts and until recently you've never had anything good to say about anyone's work with Hayabusas but your own.
