Funny quote from 10R review article...

It is surprising how many 'low posters' are here.

First, Welcome.
Second, grow up as we don't 'do' p!$$!n contests here at Hayabusa.org. We leave all that time wasting talk to immature blowhards on other boards, who believe a heavily modded 1000 beating a stock busa is a fair race. "I beat you! nyea nyea nyea nyea nyea!"
We prefer to spend our time yakking about mods, riding, talking about riding, or talking about anything because we are almost a CLUB or a family as opposed to JUST a site about the Hayabusa.

It's generally not very well respected on this planet to run anybody down. That includes us members also. We should lighten up on the noobs and show them what we are made of by setting the example of respect and maturity. But someone bites at us, we bite back. That's expected anywhere. Yes, I admit, I fail at this too sometimes. I'm working on it ;)

Stick around, learn alot, have some fun, but ease up. No need for 'frontin' here.

and leave poor, old BT alone, or I'll tell my dad to go beat up your dad!

What's not surprising is that even though they don't contribute to the site in any other way, they feel compelled to join in on mud slinging campaigns and troll fests.

You never see them help a guy with a question or problem, but they're always ready to stir the crap when they get a chance. Tells me all I need to know about them...

Hey BT keep it comin brother. I came from a zx11 and I know the busa isnt the end all motorcycle. When something better comes along many here will move on, others wont. But who cares. I enjoy your post. Fug the shid disturbers. And for those that applys to,just go away better yet. Just my .02.

yeah, i guess we have so few posts in relation to yours BT because we are out actually RIDING our bikes, rather than sitting on the computer all day long just talking about it....
Are you kidding me? Dood....seriously: STFU.

If you really ride, then you'd understand, done deal.

And kleenex?

Dood....you're wallowing in your own ignorance.

I'm done...with a final parting shot for "crazybusa". Haha...what a joke.

Hey BulletTrain,

Im considering a liter bike myself. I'm more inclined towards the GSX1000R 05K... thats maybe cause im a suzuki and Honda fan. Whats your call... do you feel the ZX10R is a better than the GSXR??

I'm not BT, but the '05 Gixxer 1k is a complete new bike and the demo models haven't made it to bike magazines yet. I don't think you can go wrong with any of the recent liter bikes. Go and sit on them and get what you like the feel and looks of. Ofc if you can get a test drive, it would be best. I can already read the liter bike review now "This new gixxer has set a new standard in liter bike perfomance by destroying the competition! All hail the new king!"

r1rookie, I cant go an sit on the bike and try them out... Im in india and none of the bike makers sell anything over 250cc here
biggrin.gif
I have to import, if i need bigger better bikes....

So, I solely need to depend upon reviews in magazines and boards .... Thanks for the good word anyways

Well, the 10R's riding position feels better to me than the '05 gixxer 1k. On the 10R you feel more like you're sitting lower and down in the bike rather than like you sitting on top of the bike as with the gixxer and Honda CBR1000RR. The R1 is somewhere in the middle. The feeling of sitting lower in the bike is better to me. In the twisties I feel like I'm part of the 10R instead of feeling like I'm perched on top of it. Makes side to side transitions feel smooth and easy.

To put this into perspective for a busa owner, the busa has this same feel. When you climb on you feel like you're down in the bike between the tank and hump, or pillion seat. Sitting on the new gixxer 1k and CBR1kRR would be like stacking about 5 inches of padding underneath you on the busa. I'm not talking about leg reach to the ground, I'm talking about where it feels like you are sitting in relation to the top of the tank. I hope I'm making sense...

Also, the Honda gives a higher seated feel than the gixxer, but not by very much. To rate the litres by seat height "feel", the Honda has the highest seat feel, followed by the Gixxer, then the R1 and finally the 10R. Again, I'm not talking about how far it is from the ground to the seat, I'm talking about how high on the bike it feels like you're sitting.

Seeing as how you're not able to go sit on all of them at the dealer you decision will no doubt be a tough one, bro. I'm no expert and certainly don't know it all, but if I can be of any assistance to you in trying to pick the right one I'll be glad to. If there's a certain aspect of any of them that you want compared from my point of view just let me know what it is and I'll hit the dealerships and compare them for you.

As far as power and handling, I doubt many (if ANY) of us here can ride well enough to wring all the performance out of the worst one of the bunch, whichever one that might be. I'd go with the one that you think would fit you best in riding position and comfort. Aside from that, if you think riding position won't be an issue for you on any of them just choose the one that does the most for you looks wise.

I have been hanging around here reading this site for about 7 months. I enjoy this site more than any other site that I have been on. I have learned a great deal about these bikes and finally bought mine and took delivery back in Dec. BT seems to know alot about these bikes and from what I gather owned one before the 10. I enjoy hearing his stories about the 10 and the other members that have been here for a while take shots at him, all in good fun of course. Hopefully I can learn more about these bikes and eventually meet some of the people here.

I wonder how many units Zuk will sell based off of those written words. God only knows how many 10's sold because of the magazine hype. I chose the busa as my first sport bike based on styling and looks. The busa is still the unbeaten, supreme KING in this category for me. It has an aura that no other bike has, plain and simple. The 10 was chosen based on comfort and "fit". It was simply the best feeling litre bike I sat on. Since I didn't expect to be truly comfortable on a litre I thought going with the *MOST* comfortable one would be the lesser of the evils.

I say all that to say this... I hope I never buy a bike based on what the magazines have to say about it. They are in the business of selling advertising space. Selling bikes sells ad space so they play this big game of trying to sell this year's version to the owners of last year's version by pumping it up and sensationalizing the minute differences that I sometimes doubt even the best riding magazine scribes could even detect if they rode last year's bike back to back with this year's bike. Give them a "new" bike like the 10R in '04 or a total redesign like the Gixxer 1k this year and they go nuts.

I'd be willing to bet right now that the new Gixxer 1k makes "Bike Of The Year" in the american bike rags. That's just how the bike mags work.

Are you going to the Deal's Gap Busa Bash this year? That would be a great opportunity to ride with a lot of folks from here.

Excellent analysis of seating position, BT. Feeling "perched" is one the issues AI had on the R1. Another issue was feeling my weight too far forward. Kepping your weight forward is generally thought of as good, but there is a limit. An R1 with about 2 more inches of wheelbase might fit me a lot better, but I can't imagine feeling more at home than I do on the Busa. I'm glad you found a litre bike that fits you.

Yep, good observation. The R1 definitely requires a bit more forward lean (longer reach to the bars) than the 10R... So does the busa though.

Sittin' "down in" the busa makes it a bit more comfortable though. Takes at least a little bit of weight off of your wrists/hands.
