Good luck, again. This is so hard. An adequate (not even good) attorney should be able to get this straightened out. Sounds like there's enough documentation that it's just a matter of time.
But in the mean time, the child is the one who's truly suffering. As hard as it is for the adults, they more or less understand. He is a child and doesn't know about the workings of court/adult vindictiveness. It might be worth looking into a family counselor. Make sure you and your g/f make him feel that he's loved and valued and that you're doing everything you can to give him the best possible life. And absolutely never, ever berate his "sperm donor" in front of him. If you can't say anything positive (sounds like there isn't much there), be as neutral as possible.
