Gen 2 Trunk Mod

This past weekend I swapped my version 1 to a version 2 within about 30 minutes. The file box was working, but I liked the cleaner look of the trash can bottom. I ended up going with a 7.5 gallon can from Home Depot. It fit great and I now have a completely sealed trunk.

I switched mine a year or so ago also.
I like the trashcan better too, much more simple and practical.
Glad to hear you telling these guys how easy it is.

My offer will stand...
Until I start selling pre cut trashcans:laugh:

There def seems to be a niche market for a premade product like this.
Just remove old tail and install new one. We need to get RussellJ to contact his Chinese connection and see about getting one done :)

I've made up my mind to do this. I'm going to buy two garbage cans. One to cut down and install and another larger one to throw it all in after I F it up

DO IT! :cheerleader: Send me all the pics! Well, I don't want to see it all in the trash, but do it! Then talk me into it! :beerchug:

You're gonna price me right out of business!

I have to say this is a great mod. Thumbs up to the creator of it. I want to do it but I'm a big guy (290+ lbs) so I'm really worried about it rubbing. Also I wanted to stretch my bike with extensions so I'm not sure if it will work for me. Oh and I do ride two up occasionally. Should I scratch the possibility of this mod being for me? Thanks

Just don't make it so deep. And I don't see how it would interfere with extensions?
Might need a better spring in rear because your a big doood but the trunk mod should still work.

Thank you sir, and as Blanca said, just don't make it so deep.
You can still gain some useful space.
If it does rub, just take it out and trim the top down evenly and try it again.:beerchug:

My wife and I combined weigh more than you too, and mine doesn't rub at 4.5" deep.

Thank u fellas, I will be doing this mod when it warms up.

Well my extensions are getting ready to go on, along with a +6 tail, and I think I will mod my original trash can mod. Stay tuned to see what goes in the trunk when I'm done! :D Hint: its a large canister for more "gas"! BAHAHAHAH, I love being sneaky!

I bought a 7.5 gallon from Home Depot and it fit great. I just cut it down to about 9 inches tall (not sure on the exact height) and then secured it in place with plastic rivets. Worked like a charm, sealed at the bottom and expanded storage space by 300%.

Pretty nifty!

Yessir! Very nice wish I had thought of that! Just got my 09 Busa 3 weeks ago after much prayer and sacrifice!!!! :please:
Thank Jah, and when I opened the storage I was like hmmm doesn't look like I'll be going many places without a back pack!

This will help big time once I get up the nerve to cut on my Silver baby!

That will be after the Two Brothers Juice Box and K&N filter goes in this week!
The slipons sound great and will sound better after the box goes in. (no more back firing! :please:)

Very happy to have joined the family of Ye ole big bird!

Skip the Juice Box, and buy a $.05 marble. Done.

Then save the money from the Juice Box, and save up for an ECU editor tune.. :beerchug:

While my bike is still apart I got around to doing this mod. Man I have so much room I don't even know what to put in there lol I love it!
