Gen 3 bar risers arriving today...any tips?

ended up going to my buddies shop so I could use his tools...all installed...much easier when you take the little side covers off but still tough to get the bolts out in a fast way.

as everyone said, go very slowly, cover things up as you are bound to slip.

don't forget to use new blue loctite to install new longer bolts.

huge difference riding home...much easier on my back...love it!

Awesome. See, I knew you could do it. Right surroundings, the right tools, the right precautions, the right attention to detail and it turned out the sh!t !

I have a lot of respect for all the guys who work on their own bikes. I know I do.

It's an owner's right and a great experience.

Well done.:beerchug:

As you can see this is a massive difference. It's as far as you can go without causing the fairing to hit etc but IMO it's perfect...haha. Highly rec'd this mod to us older folk!

thank you!

And you had no problems with the electrical, or hydraulic plumbing?.

That looks like a substantial difference. Who makes it?.

saw someone else posted the link to them so we should be good on that front...

to answer your other question, no it all fits perfect and nothing had to moved or rerouted. very nice piece!

Excellent post and info. Nice install and attention to detail !.

I couldn’t get in to the limited space with any tools I had to remove the bolts from below. Never mind torque them back in. I brought mine to a local shop where it took 3 techs 90 minutes to install the risers. Much better ride home. Worth the grief.
3 techs to put on a riser!
lmao!
But, I'm not suprised.
You need to find another shop.

Yes, it's really not that tough of job but it is time consuming and exhausting.

Couple more tips to anyone who will try this themselves...

1. Remove the small side covers next to the dash...1 allen head bolt, 2 black pop fasteners.

2. SLOWLY crack the large allen head bolts under the triple tree. There is blue loctite on the entire bolt so it is literally tough to turn the entire way. Plan 20 min a bolt minimum...using a large but slim breaker bar attached to the allen wrench helped me alot.

3. When inserting the new bolts it was easier for me to pull the inserts out slightly...that will help pop the new longer bolts in without any interference.

4. Before putting the new longer bolts in dont forget to put blue loctite on each one.

5. Call your chiro and tell him your back is doing much better after a short ride.

With that much bluegoo in the threads, is there room to run a thread cleaner thru before you put the new bolts back in?

Just a heads up: I contacted Helibars and they said that they'd have 3rd gen specific risers on their website "in the coming weeks".

First post here, because don't have a Busa yet, just lurking here for information before purchase. Will post a proper introduction soon.

contacted them last month and they asked me to bring my bike to them because I’m not that far away from them maybe an hour or two away. I’m still debating if I should bring it there.

I ordered mine yesterday directly from the vendor
paid for shipping to USA

I dont have buddies in Seattle, WA to help with the install. Have to check with the dealer where I bought the busa unless any forum members who can help and in/around Seattle :)
