Gen 3 bar risers arriving today...any tips?

No sir well worth it in my opinion ebay had a 20% off code I used and installation took me around 1hr... and with knight design lowered pegs and gel insert in my seat I can ride all day now... best $350 you can spend on her for sure! But the game changer for me is cruise control I use it on every ride lol

Riding position with 27mm bars...

I have recieved and installed the 27mm riser yesterday. Took about an hour with hand tools and taking my time. I've documented the process with pictures, would it be better to post them here or to post them in a new thread?

Took just about an hour, only used two Allen keys and a ratchet with Allen key head, breaker bar was only needed for initial loosening of one bolt. All angles are measured with suspension not under load. When under load the brake clearance is not nearly so close. Feels perfect and definitely adds to a more comfortable ride.

First photo upon box opening was 0935 and last walking away from bike on the stand was at 1040. 1 hour and 5 minutes including photo taking and coffee... difficulty level 2 out of 10. Loosening of levers etc is not necessary but do protect ignition (it may add character if you dont)

Mine came today..on my bike, seems suzuki had extra loctite, as it fought all the way..lol air ratchet was tired after that ;) nice piece, tho. came super quick with their normal post, 4 days.

I typically run the abm bar kits, had them on my h2 sx, still was poop, and on both my 2016, and '18 gxxer 1000's..

This kit made THIS bike very rideable to me..I cancelled my pre order on the abm kit..I did do lowering pegs..took em of my h2..fit good.

Punchline is bike is good enough for me with the risers now

I know I don't have the fortune of a Gen3, but I do have 33mm (+/-) risers on my G2 with Helibars.
I agree 100%, it changes the whole setup. So good.

I installed my riser from the supplier in the UK. I used a nice headlamp to see well in the lower areas. I noticed that all around after the install, I had a space of about 1/16 of an inch, basically a little gap in the area where the bolt screws into the head plate. All the bolts they supplied are tight. I wonder if they are a little too long? I mean all is tight and secure. Does anybody else see this or have this problem?

Can you provide a picture of what you are specifically referring to? There is a small lip on the top of the riser and on the bottom the top plate/bars plate. The mating of these two MAY be what you are referring to...but hard to say without seeing. There is a gap normally all the way around the top plate/bars plate from where it rests on the rubber mounts the bolts go through.

Edit: there are a few pictures above that show what I am referring to.

Forgive me - new lad here. I believe in all of the photos by removing the bolts from the bottom you were merely able to remove and roll forward or lift up the entire handlebar assembly and slide on the new and then bolt back up without having to disassemble anything on the handlebars?

I just ordered my Gen3 lucky to get one up here in Canada for spring delivery and of course this is one mod that will be required. I am coming off a BMW K1600GT which I also did a riser on and it truly did make a huge difference on that bike. I am very curious and will be asking questions - hopefully no one gets short with me for asking :)
