Probably already known, but you can set your next service interval to whatever mileage you want. I moved mine to 3000 instead of the default 7500 since I will change the oil every 3k from next oil change on out.

the second service is 3750 then 7500 I think..... I could be wrong as I dont have manual in front of me......

Did my first oil change today. 600 miles came up in one week. LOL. Got Busa’s video was extreme helpful. That one Phillips screw was hard to spot but knew where to look thanks to him. Oil rained was 3.6/3.7 quarts and put in 3.7. Oil is exactly in middle of sight glass. Oil magnet was almost clean - cleanest first oil change I’ve ever seen..

So ive put 600 miles on my 2011 so far. The manual says the first service should be around 600.. my dealer said bring it back at 1000 miles. I've got two questions... first. the dealer said they do more things than just change the oil and filter.... he didnt got into detail... so should I...

Thought I would switch over to K&N instead of buying an oil filter wrench. Torque wrench head definitely wouldn't fit, but neither would a regular socket. Also couldn't use an extender to go between the headers because of the cross brace. Ended up using an adjustable wrench but I'm not trying to spend $200 for an adjustable torque wrench. Any other way to torque down the oil filter?
Suzuki filter says 2 turns past gasket contact.

If done right the metal part of the filter will just touch the filter boss on the case. They should of just said to tighten the filter until it seats against the case.

This applies to the Suzuki OEM filter. It has a big thick cushy gasket so it compresses a bunch. Other filters should be put on normally

So what is every one using for oil filter and oil? I've been told Purolator is great, K&N is good, and stay away from Fram. Is the Amsoil filter, or any other aftermarket filter better than stock? What about oil...not to get a heated debate going, but as far as Syn. oils go, what you all...
