GEN 3 is ON!!!!! ITS GOING TO HAPPEN!!!!!

i am in the believe it when it happens category...been riding the busa since they came out in 99....

I may get one but I'm not gettin rid of my Gen I, I love that thing too much. Too many thousands of dollars, hours and a turbo! (and now it's next debut will be with a GXSR 1000 tail).

snds like like some real world changes are coming. I'm thinkn 210 hp or so with a complete overhaul.

If the gen 3 busa shall drop like the bomb it did in 99 it needs a bit more hp than the mighty green = a bigger update than the step from gen 1 to gen 2. Looking at todays 1000cc:s with around 200bhp there should be no problem to keep the low end torque and get 230-240hp in a 1440-1540cc engine. With those hp:s you´ll need some electronics to tame the beast. Weight should probably down just a few kg:s just because they can. It´s not a first choice trackbike like some weightwatchers like to forget. :-)

I wonder if the motor will be a 1441 or if they will stomp the ZX14 with a 1500cc Busa?!
now that would be a beast! or just a turbo...

I was afraid that maybe Suzuki flat-lined after the blows they have been receiving from other manufacturers the advent of the BMW S1000rr, the new ZX10r, the Kawasaki H2, the upcoming 2015 R1 and other new generation liter bikes and the new ZX14R topping the list. All this while, no response from Suzuki. The silence drove me crazy. Now we see testing and preparations by Suzuki to come back into MotoGP and we know what all that means for us...more R&D. What better platform for R&D for a bike manufacturer than participating in MotoGP. I bet a lot of the tech they're working on for their race bike will trickle down to production bikes. I foresee high tech traction control plus many other technologies and improvements. A Gsxr1000 that will beat the s1k, a busa that whoops the ZX14R will definitely be in the pipeline...has to be because I don't see how Suzuki could be developing anything less to these bikes. Lets wait and see

As I posted on another thread, remember that Suzuki had a working supercharged B-king concept bike years ago. Maybe a Kawasaki spy got wind that the Gen III was going to use that engine and rushed the H2 out to cut off Suzuki's thunder.

True the B-King concept was indeed supercharged. I can only imagine that engine on the new busa , wouldn't that be interesting.

I'm ready. 2016 will work. Interesting factoid in this article. We're riding a (frame/engine) design that's 15 years old. Amazing. Name another bike where you can say that.

And the Gen-II is pushing 7 years old already. Seems like yesterday the '99 came out, where has time gone!

Right? Hell I'm finally graduating in December, so maybe I can get one for a graduation gift to me?! :)

I could see an attraction to a GEN III,
with a few simple mods done at the factory.

1) Widen the bore spacing by about 1/4 inch.

(That MIGHT widen the engine by 3/4 inch at the most,
and only at the cylinder for sure.)

2) Increase the bore by maybe 8mm.

3) Lengthen the stroke by another 5mm.

That would allow a factory displacement
of 1,742cc.

Since we know we can overbore today's Hayabusa by 4mm,
we could have the bike up to about 1,900cc with little expense.

A small additional stroke of 4mm,
allows a displacement of over 2000cc.

If a STOCK 1300 will run 192 MPH (like mine did @ Maxton),
could a "prepared" 2000cc variant post 300HP and 270 MPH
WITHOUT a turbo, and plenty of running room ?

A decent GEN I, so many years ago, might show
165 RWHP on a good dyno, Increasing for a 10%
drivetrain loss, that would be maybe 185 crank HP.

If the volumetric efficiency stayed the same
(not a sure bet, but we've got 15 years
more technology in hand)
that would be 250 HP
in street legal trim.

No Blower, no baloney.

in 2000cc form, same assumptions,
2000cc = 275 HP

Please lord, pick me !

We can only hope:

Suzuki may introduce a turbocharged Hayabusa model sometime in mid-2018 as a 2019 model year bike, according to reports. The Suzuki Hayabusa has remained unchanged in its nearly 20-year production run and for 2018 as well, the bike will remain unchanged. But latest reports indicate that the Suzuki Hayabusa may very well get a turbocharged engine for its 2019 model year edition, to be introduced sometime in the second half of 2018. The Japanese two-wheeler manufacturer could possibly use the turbocharging technology that was showcased with the Recursion Concept that was showcased during the Tokyo Motor Show.

I hope this is the start of the teasers but last time I saw that photo, it didn't have 1600 photoshopped on the side. A 1600 cc turbo!! Lets hope. It would be a good time and they would be best to bring on something not just a little faster than the 14R, but a lot faster.
