Gen2 HID install

Re: Blanca's new Granny Blinders....

Nice step by step pics of the install! You are right... your ballasts are different then the ones I have on both my bikes! But they work! I had to use my phone too post and look at the pics! Nice BRIGHT LIGHTS NOW! Now it may be time to upgrade the horn! I need to on both bikes. The 02 1K has a airhorn on it! THE STOCK HORNS SUCK!

Re: Blanca's new Granny Blinders....

No issues with start up . Tim explained to me how to go thru the motions of starting without lights being on.
I believe you turn killswitch on then push starter in and hold it.
While holding starter button down turn key on and lastly draw in clutch to start bike.
This was the HIDs don't light until the bike actually starts and there is no power drain .
Again great tip from my new bestus fwend WarbirdII.

My goal is to separate myself from all the others by standing out during daytime.
Too many people look right thru me.
Hopefully now with both beams on during the day folks will notice me a little more.

I was tired and my brain wasn't working right . They both do come on when the high is on. I have two different colors now that I remember bright white low and a yellow stock high. Very nice write up Saiid

Re: Blanca's new Granny Blinders....

Looks good, nice write up. I been wanting to this mod for a while, and looking at your pics, make it look fairly simple. thanks for the post. I guess I'm going to order DDM's 35w 6k. kit tomorrow, maybe I'll have them by the weekend to hook up. Brian

Re: Blanca's new Granny Blinders....

Really is pretty simple to do.
I have WarbirdII/Tim to thank for making me sure of myself .

Actual hookup and tying off of HID kits is about 30 minutes.
Just takes one hour to get there and one hour to put it back together.

Re: Blanca's new Granny Blinders....

Looking good.. the hardest part is taking all the crap off the bike! And the "resistor" is actually the igniter..

Re: Blanca's new Granny Blinders....

I figured I was misnaming it .
That right there should convince anyone still worried about how to do to just do it.
Me a guy who doesn't even know the names of the pieces he is hooking up did it.
Along with help over the phone even I got it done.

Re: Blanca's new Granny Blinders....

Are those 6k's? Sorry if it was mentioned and i overlooked it..
Also how long did it take you to get them from DDM?

Thanks

Re: Blanca's new Granny Blinders....

Re: Blanca's new Granny Blinders....

xchief1320 Both are 6k 35w single motorcycle HID kits from DDM.
I ordered them before Christmas and just got them only cuz they said they had a rush during the holidays.

I still cant believe you get all that for 25 bucks each !
