Gen3 front bake master cylinder recall in Japan

Gen3 MC Brake RECALL 1557 Frame NUMMERS 331345877_699005248534597_6214669878504722916_n.jpg

Take a look at your VIN # , hope it's NOT

There are likely to be a few effected bikes outside of this vin# range as well.
QC will flag known stock.
Sometimes even suspected stock, but that is not common due to cost.
Hopefully, given that it is a brake issue, Suzuki will correct this on Any bike that the dealer says needs it...as it's cheaper than more negative press, and a lawsuit.

Well, it got me too! I just got a letter from the traffic authorities that my motorcycle urgently needs to be taken to the workshop, there is a serious danger. It is also listed on the Suzuki Online page for recalls. Well I'm very pleased.....

The workshop immediately said "oh...we have to order parts...but it will take a few weeks, maybe months". I put in the VIN of my old Gen 3 just for fun, it would have gotten the same, even though the production of the two bikes is 7 months apart. So it doesn't seem to be just a bug on a few bikes built in a given period.

It is definately a given period, between then and whenver.
Reason being, they will have identified that bad and suspected MC's where recieved and installed between certain dates.
So a vin# range of bikes built between those dates will be or could be effected.
And unfortunately, there will probably be a few bikes before and after that date range that may be effected as well.
It depends on how good Suzuki's Quality Control is. And, given their slow response to it all, it doesn't sound like it's that great.

My bike is affected and is in the local recall database. However, no communication yet. When the weather improves and I'll be riding more I'll contact the dealer.

I've got an insta360 X3 camera coming, and I'm worried the motorcycle mount kit won't have enough room on the bar. I don't like the design of the MC, as I'm on the tall side and it won't let you rotate it forward enough for the lever to be lined up with my forearm.

Sure love my Hayabusa logo Reservoir covers though... So I'm putting up with it...

Get an aftermarket master cylinder instead.
The last gen gsxr's(17-23) have that issue too, where the mc will only roll so far forward before it's mounting clamp contacts other parts.
