Gen3 front bake master cylinder recall in Japan

Save the headache...buy a Brembo.
If you ever get rid of it, put the stock mc back on, the recall will still be valid.
Well, I sold my pair of RCS masters I had on the gen2 and don’t feel like spending that money again. lol! I went in the garage and pulled the lever and feels great after sitting for at least a month so, hopefully I’m good. I’m the second owner so wondering if recall was done. I guess they would have the vin in their records marked as complete and wouldn’t be sending me a letter if the previous owner would’ve taken it in.

I don't know, a member here(forget who) posted the other day about having had theirs done, but getting a letter again last week.
This is the second recall for the same thing, so Suzuki probably didn't go to the trouble of sorting out who's had or hadn't been done.
I also remember someone posting about having the recall done earlier this year, and having the same problem again.
So apparently Suzuki has no idea who has working mc's and who doesn't.

Hopefully I’m not jinxing myself but, mine feels as good as the rcs on my gen2 did. Lol

Suzuki in Brazil has also sent e-mails to owners recalling a series of bikes from 2022 to 2024.

Yeah, it's world wide, Suzuki is recalling them all now, as they should have originally.
Sadly, brand new bikes in dealer showrooms are still effected.
Suzuki clearly has no idea what they're doing, since they have to recall every one of them, including past recalled bikes, and brand new bikes to find them all now.

I think if I ever have an issue, I’ll just look into getting the MC piston assy for $41 per partzilla’s deiwgram (assuming it has the upgraded parts) and take it apart for repairs myself. Those techs are hit or miss when it comes to their knowledge and quality of work and, I’m not willing to let them anywhere near my bike. I was never pleased with the remote Rizoma reservoirs so, if I was ever to get another brembo MC I would definitely spend the extra money to get the integrated reservoir available for those MCs.

It's the master cylinder housing too.
I would be concerned that you won't be getting the updated parts there for a while either, as Suzuki seems to have no clue...and please stop pretending that you're 'done' spending money on this bike...
lmao

MBR started a post about the recall, probably didn’t see this one. I didn’t either and posted this in his thread.

How the hell can Suzuki Inc. produce a M/C that doesn’t work? How long have they been making motorcycles? Did they outsource the M/C? The OEM oil filter on my Kawasaki says Made in China on it. Maybe outsourcing it is cheaper? I bought my 06 LE new and in 3 months it will be 19 years old with over 83,000 miles. Other than fluid changes I’ve never had a reason to open the M/C as it’s never failed.

Listen, I’ve been doing pretty good not buying a ton of parts and mostly just recycling some of my gen2 parts in the almost 5 months of ownership.

No recall letter here yet, but my local (very good) store knows my vin, looked it up and ordered the parts. Mines getting done 8am Fri while I walk down the street for breakfast.

It’ll be the 2nd master cylinder recall on mine, I didn’t need the ABS bolt recall. Still a lot less recalls and inconvenience than my previous H2 SX SE so I’m not complaining.

Suzuki don’t make brakes, in the same way they don’t make tyres, spark plugs, bulbs or 1000 other items. Pretty much the same as every other car and bike manufacturer Yes, the issue lies with their suppliers, but I agree, Suzuki need to be responsible for the standard of parts they use.

Funny… the only recall on my B-King was for a reg/rec, which was then recalled for a second reg/rec.

Now the only recall on my Gen-3 was for a new front master cylinder, which has now been recalled for another front master cylinder.

You’d think a recall would get someone’s arse kicked and the replacement part would be beyond question.

The real issue is that the manufacturers continue to use us as their R&D ‘staff’. New buyers are simply stuck often having to wait and not ride until the parts come in etc etc. The additional issue is that the manufacturer will decline any warranty work if the owner continues to ride and the bad part causes a breakdown. There was a member here that bought a new BMW K1600 that had a severe ‘safety’ issue that caused him to wait months before it was fixed. I couldn’t be happier with my Gen 1. I’ve never had an issue with it.
