Guess what i'm doing tonight

This paint is covering WAY better than the all high and mighty ppg stuff i sprayed last week that didnt cover worth a damn, has a pretty good texture to it hoping it settles down as it flashes
 
and guess what i'm doing today, sanding it all back down, texture didnt settle down and the color is no where close to a "rat rod flat" honestly if i buffed it out it probably be real nice gloss. Pissed off not sure what i'm gonna do now

Respraying for sure, hate how it looks its got more gloss then a semi gloss paint and they call it flat, said its the flattest black they sell....Started sanding this morning but still wasnt cured enough, looks like i'm gonna be another week out from riding it:banghead:
 
Flatest the sell? my gloss looked duller than that before it got cleared. Maybe they gave ya the wrong stuff, maybe?

Thats quite the difficult sounding job youve lined up. I hope it all goes well. A flat black will look very nice:beerchug:
 
I dunno getting tired of messing with it though. Heres a so so pic of the difference, the inside of the solo is what i'm after the outside is the most recent attempt

get john deere blitz black. its a single stage paint and it dries nice and flat, plus its cheap. sprayed it on my bronco, i was happy with the look. its what alot of rat rod guys use also. get it from a john deere dealer.
 
They sell flattening agents, which is the same process of turning single stage into a base coat to be cleared.

I have some if you want to drive to NC.
 
with a flat black base if you spray a clear it will still show as gloss you have to use a flat black epoxy primer or use a flat clear i believe house of kolor makes a good flat clear
 
Problem is its so many problems, took the undertail with me tonight and my buddy remarked it has a feel and look like latex paint, got one more round i'm going to try and if that dont work i'll reprime the whole thing and ride it around gray lol
